I’m 37 and am at 10. It’s a pretty modest number because I was always a relationship guy and didn’t like hookups because I had trouble differentiating between sexual needs and romantic feelings. I‘ve also always had a strong libido that wouldn’t match up with a lot of my gfs and it strained the relationships and would end them early on. In the Past years I’ve been more open to exploring my sexuality more and am even considering trying open relationships. I think If we can stay emotionally connected I can keep from getting jealous, the only time I’ve ever gotten jealous in the past is when the girl becomes distant and it seemed as though I was being replaced. Also the thought of having sex with a variety of Women and not having to choose one excites me and opens the doors to a lot of unexplored fantasies.

Also, the statistics you saw likely used averages, which is a flawed way of presenting data, particularly on this subject of all subjects. The nature of sex is that almost all of it is being had by a very small percentage of the population. In any given age group, most people have 0-2 sexual partners, while a small number of people have insanely high numbers of sexual partners, which raises the average for the whole age group. The average between a person with 0 sexual partners and a person with 30 sexual partners is 15 sexual partners. So you can see why when looking at averages, it would give the impression that everyone has 15 sexual partners, when in reality nobody has that number and instead everyone either has much more or much fewer.
