How many women must a man have to sleep with in order to have an understanding of female nature?

I would hesitate taking advice about female nature from a guy who never lived with a woman for at least several years or never had sex with a woman.

However, if he spent his life with one woman, fathered and brought up a daughter with that woman, and kept good contact to his mother - then such a man could well be qualified to talk about female nature. I guess it needs a lot of reading, learning and talking either way, but there has to be a base in the man's personal life.

It will then not be a requirement to have sex with additional women.

@ericsummer That's an extremely specific outlier. In general a guy w/ limited sexual experience is going to struggle w/ providing useful advice about females to men. It's odd that "virgin" is used as an insult however people fail to admit that having sex w/ women is the valuable part of the interaction.

I was thinking about an old man from a story: A young man once asked this old man what he should do to become knowledgeable with women. He answered: "I have been living with my wife for over 50 years and still I often feel that I do not understand her. How can you have any hope to learn something about all women?" I guess it sounds better in the original version in Arabic. The guy in my example who has one life partner could also have a sister or a goddaughter. I just mean one partner and a few other women in his personal life.

@ericsummer Lot of flaws in that example. For starters no one mentioned anything about "all" that word seems to be a conventional choice which allows the author to avoid evidence. Also your story kind of proved my point. The old man had been w/ one women, for 50 years, yet he lacked understanding of women. doesn't it make more sense that he would have a better understanding of women had he dated 50 women in 1 year? It's so odd to me why people try to pretend as if having one girl is some accomplishment when all human evidence says otherwise.

The example comes from Islamic culture so it is in favor of monogamy. Anyway, I think one woman can be enough. The main difference for me is between being alone and being with a woman. The number of women does not matter. If you are with them only for a year you cannot know them in depth. A small number would probably be best to learn the most. But who wants to learn the most, anyway?

@ericsummer Islamic culture allows for multiple wives so maybe it was meant toungue in cheek. I'm glad you shared that your belief is based in a fear of being alone, at least that shows were your mentality derives from. Much like "all" "most" wasn't a prerequisite. If you hold the belief that all women are the same I could see how a limited number could help. Are you making the claim that women aren't special?

It's not fear. I can be alone and be at ease. I just cannot be happy without a woman, at least not for a prolonged time. A woman can become special for a man, and he for her. Otherwise, I think individuality is overrated in our Western culture. Most people, women or men, are not special in themselves.

All the sex in the world doesn’t teach you about female nature in general. It teaches you about sex. The majority of men struggle to understand women but some have the ability to pick up on it fairly easily. So yes, even a virgin who hasn’t had sex but is perceptive might have valuable insight into a woman’s nature. I wouldn’t discount it.

@anonymous Having sex is the validation that you do understand women. In order for a man to get a woman to spread her legs for him (for free) he must understand women. If a man was around a group of men, attempting to discuss women, the first thing he's going to be asked is how many he has banged. Just one of it’s the right one! It usually takes a man at least 10 to find the right one though. And, while they may learn how to physically please a woman from those experiences, there’s a lot more upstream of the physical that has to be there.

Understanding does not come from a body count, understanding comes from listening and actually WANTING to know so they can please their partner. Men who you just mentioned, do not care at all about understanding women, all they care about, is blowing the load and moving on to their next victim. In addition the belief that limited knowledge of a general subject, educates someone effectively on that same subject. contridicts reality. If that was true, why do students take electives b4 graduation w/ BA's? Why is continuing education required for licensed professionals? If being w/ one women provides you understanding of women, are you making the claim that all women are the same? As for your "victim" belief, it validates my point, as any man that has been successful w/ women understand that they will attempt to use shaming tactics as a way to regulate make sexual activity. Not a single person is the same, we are all unique individuals. As humans we do share basic needs and wants, but on an individual level you have to explore that person deeper. There are 223 nationalities, over 3000 different cultures and over 4000 different religious believes. Think of women as cars, all cars work on the same principle and do exactly the same thing, they get you from point A to point B, BUT different brands, different models of different years, require different approaches and different techniques to diagnose those specific car brand, models of different years.
