    • Well it's not a question of "can't understand or learn" ... Being special needs doesn't mean being stupid... That's just plain ignorant. I can't speak for others but in my brother's case he's autistic, and part of what comes with that is a difficulty with understanding social norms. He just doesn't get why anyone should care. In a lot of situations I wish I could be more like him. As for why he touches himself. I think it just soothes him. He has really bad anxiety due to his difficulty in communicating. For him masturbation is like a kid with their blanket. It make him feel better when he feels he doesn't have control.
