How painful is it to give birth 1-10?

No women explains how it feels to give birth. They just say it hurts a lot that isn’t a proper explanation. Lol when I had sex first time it felt like his thing was a huge sharp knife shoving stabbing inside my vagina that’s how I can describe the pain feeling. I even shed tears. So does childbirth feel like that or worse? If it’s so painful why don’t women pass out from the pain how our body can stand that? I’m 25 I want have my baby at 26 so I want know how the pain feels like. How it feels to have a baby coming out of ur tiny vagina?

  • The problem nowadays with childbirth is that by and large it has been turned into more of a medical procedure. Women have been doing it and doing amazingly well at it for thousands of years. Your vagina may seem small now, but it is made to expand during childbirth. The cervix is made to dilate. Your body is perfectly made to do this!

The problem with approaching childbirth from a medical standpoint is that it’s very contrary to how the body works during childbirth. Of course it’s wonderful to have emergency medical if something goes wrong but it should always be used as a back up only. Everything from making a woman lay on her back during childbirth to having an epidural actually stifles the progress and causes complications. Doctors and nursing staff try to rush the body with the pitocin and trying to force a woman to push before her body is ready. It’s all about being on the clock for them. Even worse now, the medical industry is pushing for cesarean section based birth. It’s an exponentially increasing medical procedure.

Having a Doula and a midwife is worth it’s weight in gold! They will spend as much time educating you on how childbirth is actually supposed to work naturally as the birth itself. Being armed with knowledge is the difference between a painful childbirth with complications, and a much easier going natural childbirth with much less risks involved. Many women who give childbirth naturally don’t even end up tearing. Something as simple as being in the squatting position is 100 times easier for childbirth because it actually opens the birth canal at the proper angle for the child to pass through. It also takes advantage of gravity. But in order to do that, do you need an advocate and someone who understands these concepts to be there. People who aren’t beholden to the medical industry!

My advice is to get a Doula and a midwife. One will be your advocate and teacher, while the other one will help you deliver the correct way.

    • One other very important thing I forgot to mention… Something else they won’t do medically speaking is help you from the psychological standpoint. Psychologically speaking, that is even more important than the physical aspect of delivery. Being able to control your thoughts, your breathing and concentration, and your endurance. You have to be able to control your attitude and outlook and remain calm throughout. A woman who can maintain a rational thought process vs a woman who becomes hysterical is the difference between a woman who has what it takes to deliver because she has control over her body or a woman who doesn’t and must therefore have everything done medically. Again, a Doula and a midwife will teach you these things prior, and then help reinforce them every step of the way during birth.

  • i'll call and ask my mother. Don't know why that question never came up. She says her kidney stones are 11 if a migraine is 10.

I've passed a kidney stone as a man and that was a 10, but my worst diabetic nerve pain days are a full scale or two higher than that.

    • My mom said kidney stone hurts way more than live birth of a baby.

  • Contractions, labor and postpartum healing all hurt way worse then actually pushing the baby out. That's like the easy part but I've never had tears or experienced the ring of fire like some women so they might have a different experience.

    • But 1-10 how much does labor hurt? Wen my boyfriend went inside me for the first time it felt like a 8-9. Like his penis was a huge knife stabbing me inside my vagina.

    • Explain how birth feels like , like a tattoo needle, like fire flames , like a knife stabbing u? How does it feel?

    • Labor is definitely a 10 on the pain scale. Literally nothing more painful. Feels like period cramps times 100

  • My Mom says 7... she had no issues.

  • One would need to know what 10 feels like first in order to compare.

  • Never was pregnant but i guess it's 9-10

  • It's something a lot bigger than a penis. While you hymen is already broken, the vagina is stretched well beyond a comfortable limit. There is a reason why there are drugs during childbirth, so the woman won't pass out.

  • 9 for sure.

    • But what the fuck does a 9 feel like? When my boyfriend went inside me the first time it felt like a huge knife stabbing me down there

    • They felt like an 8-9
