How to know a guy is hard/erect?

So I’m very inexperienced intimately. The only experience I’ve had was a drunken blowjob I gave to a friend.   • As I said before... There is hard, and there is HARD. Kinda, depends. A penis can be 'erect' per se, and on his back, it will lay down on his stomach. One positive way you can tell about the Level of an erection is by looking at the Head of his penis, and when full erect, it will be very 'shiny' and 'purple' due to the blood flow. Always different 'states' of erection. Don't know if that gives you a better perspective. Hope not too graphic for you.
