  • Hardest addiction to break is the one you are dealing with right now. The drug is always inside your head and the equipment is always attached.

    Best advice: don't try to stop cold turkey because it never works. All it will do is eat away at your confidence and make you even more dependent on it.

    Instead of trying to stop it right away, keep a record. Date and time every incidence, log where it happened and what you were feeling and doing leading up to it. This will help you figure out where and when you are most weak, and what triggers it.

    Second: get accountability partners. This is hard because it means trusting someone with this very difficult, embarrassing part of your life, but it's absolutely vital. The more you have the more it will piss you off when they support you, but the more effective and lasting your recovery will be.

    Third: Control your environment and have saftey zones. Get whitelist web-filters, accountability software and avoid places where the struggle is the greatest. Have places where computers, phones, magazines and maybe even radios cannot enter under any circumstance. have a box by the door where these things can wait until you leave.

    • Fifth: Diet and exercise. Stay physically active. Save enough energy to get through the day and burn through the rest before the next. Do something fun that will build up your physical attributes as a nice side-bonus. Maybe even get some work done and develop some skills. Until you have yours in check, avoid these foods whenever possible.

  • You don't need a therapist. You just need to dumb it down a bit. I suggest stop watching online porn, as that is disastrous for your health. Use your imagination instead. Gradually go to 4, 3, even 2x a day. It takes practice.
