How to tell a guy you want to wait until you’re in a committed relationship with him before having sex?

Guys it would be helpful if you could help me with a response that is sensitive enough as I know this will disappoint him as he was under the impression I would have sex sooner.

Excellent question. I'm thinking what a good approach might be. I'd probably say to suggest that it will be a month or two (or whatever timeframe you are comfortable with) before you'd consider that. In order to give you more time to get to know him and feel that you are in a real relationship first. If you let him know that it won't be right away then he will know that he has to show some level of interest beyond sex. If he leaves, then of course you had no loss.
