How would you react if a person you knew came out as an ex prostitute?

This is a personal experience but I'm posting as anon because I know I would get hate. I operated as a prostitute from a young age (not that kinda young). It was a surprise thing I started working at a coffee shop and was barely sexually active a few years before I started work there. I was instantly suprised at the amount of people that asked for a flash for a few dollars in tips when we were overflowed with business. This isn't a starbucks by the way 😂. But about a week after getting asked and about a month after working I finally started to flash for money. It wasn't common but mostly from repeat customers. We were a busy coffee shop and one where vacations were super common, so it was seasonal work. Not too much later I got asked for handjobs, blowjobs, everything. I eventually let in knowing this starting becoming super regular to the point I could've quit the coffee shop and been stable at a young age.
Now with this newly found income I got parents permission to start investing in the stock market. I'm 22 years old now and I have made it a quite great living and I quit the coffee shop when I turned 19. It took a lot of hard work learning day trading but thanks to that extra income I was able to boost my career in stocks. I know my fair share of friends who have flashed for money or have a hand in someone's pants, but the only people I've talked to that's similar to me is far away and have never heard the public opinion on it.

Superb Opinion

  • A few opinions on it, they will reflect on how I would be reacting regarding being in a situation with someone who did what you did (since otherwise my opinion is moot).

    1. I personally wouldn't pay for looking at or using anyones body, or having them manipulate mine, etc. Not worth paying for to me honestly, would rather watch free porn or get a girlfriend and spend that money on something else.

    2. The reward might have paid off for you, but you were lucky. No amount of money is worth catching an std or the risk of pregnancy. So imho the risk outweighed the reward (I could get rich doing risky jobs too, but fuck that lol).

    3. I wouldn't date or do anything with someone who used to be (or still is) a sex worker (even if I didn't have to pay them), because it would feel too unsafe.

    4. I also wouldn't invest in stocks either, too risky.

    • I have to disagree with everything being so unsafe. Maybe the second opinion but not the third. When it is years down the line and testing already been there done that. Also stocks aren't gambling unless you are super negligent

    • Stocks crash all the time for stupid unexpected reasons, and the investment amount is high, as for everything else I stand by my initial opinions.

Most Helpful Guy

  • Well I'm not the close with any of my female friends so honestly I wouldn't care that much.

If one of my guy friends came out tho then that's a different story. Cause first off how would you even get business?

Like there's really no demand for male prostitute. If he was a stripper I can kinda understand. But a prostitute? Yeah I don't know who's paying to get dick but whoever it is most likely getting a bad deal.

    • Haha 😅

  • I once dated an active prostitute and I loved it! It really yurned me on.

  • depend on what she was like.. what she wanted to be.. and how much she loves me

  • Not prostitute but a pornstar. I watched her videos. Hell yeah.

  • I would keep it private. Its in the past

  • Not a big deal, we all have past things that we have changed and no longer do. I would thank her for telling me and reassure her that her past is past.

  • I've known a few and I can't judge someone, when I haven't walked a mile in their shoes. They fill a need, and get paid for honest, hard work.

  • I respect that you knew how to take care of yourself.
    Good for you.

  • It happened to me. For me it was nothing bad

  • If she was proud of it, I would think less of her. If she was sorry that she had been a prostitute, and turned away from it, I would be glad to have he as a friend. More than a friend? Perhaps.
