any man who judges you for it isn't worth the hassle frankly. The "scissor" like instrument was probably a speculum which helps "hold it open" so to speak so they can inspect.
Virginity is often linked (by idiots) to the existence of the hymen, which is a little membrane around the opening of the vagina. This can be broken by riding a bicycle or horse riding, hence why it is stupid to assume a lack of one (and let's be honest, how would the average man even check) correlates to virginity.
