Having an erection is a normal part of being male. It's not hard for that to happen, and it rarely leads to ejaculation. I can understand his desire for you, if you are in the same bed, but I'm concerned how he's addressing it. It's one thing to tell you you're luscious and his body has no problem responding when any of his senses become aware of you (in bed, you're stimulating more of his senses simultaneously). It's another thing to focus on himself and how he claims he is struggling, implying you should do something about it if you cared about him. Let him know you appreciate the fact that he desires you, but you're not comfortable with any manipulation using guilt. That will only cause you to dig in your heels, not move forward faster.
Just have sex with the guy. 5 months is too long of a wait, in my opinion. He won't leave. If anything, he'll want to stay with you more
