I recently did a poll on reddit and apparently most sexually active people do not get tested for STI's. Can someone please explain why that is?

I am not judging, but I am confused. Aren't people afraid to get ill?

It could be a lot of reasons. It could be that it costs too much to get tested regularly, maybe they're in a relationship with one partner so there's not much reason to get tested, or it could just be that they feel embarrassed to do it. Which isn't a good excuse because getting tested regularly is still important, but I do imagine it's a factor for a lot of people.

They don't get tested because they are MORONS and think it won't happen to them, just like smokers think they won't get cancer, and drunks think htey can control it, until one day it controls them.

1/4th of all adults in the U. S. has at least one STD and 1/6th have an incurable STD, and most of them don't even know it yet.

Do not like to judge either... but really wonder how people can have sex (sometimes unprotected) with friends or strangers and not worry about pregnany or any disease
Basically they can trust any girl she is taking birth control

Because they don't have any? I saw a post on reddit that prostitutes are way more sexually clean than a regular woman cause they use condoms even for blow jobs and make sure they're safe cause it's thwir livelihood. So the same goes here. Only virgins should get tested for STDs

I don't get tested when I enter a new relationship, but I demand my partner to provide a test.

Why is that? Because I get fucking tested at work regularly (VERY regularly) and I also use ample protection.
