Well someone's got their father wrapped around their finger. If my kid turned 14 I'd make sure that they had a job to get their own vehicle. Regardless of whether it's my son or daughter if they got enough guts to ask me for a car just because it's their birthday coming up I'd give him a hot wheels and tell him if they want something bigger they have to go get it themselves. When you work and you earn something you're more likely to take care of it, plus I remember how everyone drives when they were a teenager. I don't want my kids getting hurt because of their bad habits. it is my responsibility as their father to teach them good habits so they can have nice things and a happy life. As for whether it's a Ferrari or not you should be grateful that it has four wheels and turns on. Sorry but your sense of entitlement really pisses me off. Almost every single person alive worked for their car.

haha... no... first car should NEVER be anything expensive... any parent who does buy an expensive car for their childs first car, is just asking for trouble...

a first car should be secondhand, cheap and affordable to run and maintain... it allows you to get used to handling the vehicle and helps build confidence and not worry as much at the cost as you will get a few dings and scratches, it will teach you how to look after something without the huge price tag...
and also at 14? not sure what country you live in but i believe in teh US it's 16 and here in the UK learning at 17, legal at 18 if i recall correctly...

Depends on what he drives. Mos parents will buy a car of the same or lower level of what they drive. So if your dad drives a Bugatti then a Lamborghini is in your future.

Doubtful. He would be very stupid to put a new driver in a powerful car. When you get a license tell him to enroll you in one of the car club weekend programs for teenage drivers. They will let you safely learn to control a car in a skid or under hard braking, let you practice evasive maneuvering and other skills you won’t get from the usual driving schools.
