  • Presence or absence of hymen does not determine virginity, but traditionally people correlate virginity of a girl with her hymen. Almost all girls are born with hymen, a collar of tissue at the entrance to her vagina. Just as all bodies are different, hymens are also different. Looking at a hymen does not tell anything about virginity.

Virginity is a quality that we all girls have – it is not a physical thing. It is emotional attachment with a person with sexual intimacy. If a girl / woman uses sex toys, has broken hymen because of it, but has not slept with anyone is she still a virgin technically. Logical and Emotional argument – her hymen is not torn by a penis of a man. It is her choice to share her virginity and experience sexual intimacy with another person – without pressure or impairment, eg, from drugs or alcohol. It cannot be lost or taken by someone else, because she is in charge of her body and of her sexuality. Girl’s hymen changes throughout her life. Before puberty, her hymen is thin and may be sensitive. During puberty, increased hormones (particularly oestrogen) cause her hymen and other vaginal tissues to become thicker and stretchieafter. In many cases, it do not gets lost after sexual intercourse, and even child birth. You cannot tell if someone is a virgin based on whether she bleed when she have sex – for the first time. About half of women bleed when they first have sex, and almost similar numbers of women do not bleed. Both are completely normal.

Bleeding may come from small splits in her hymen or her vagina itself. The bleeding should be lighter than a period and should not last for long as these tears heal quickly. In reality, it is impossible to tell by looking at a hymen whether you have had sexual intercourse or not.

Other factors such as vaginal dryness, not being aroused (turned on), skin conditions (infection or inflammation) and rough sexual contact can also cause bleeding.

Hymen does not completely cover vaginal opening – a hole is normal for period blood to flow out. When she have sex, her hymen does not 'break or pop' totally – it stretches, which may cause a small tear. You cannot tell by looking at a hymen whether sex has occurred (consensual or non-consensual). The size of the opening in girl’s hymen is irrelevant, unless it is so small and causes blood flow obstruction and pain.

Using tampons, bike-riding, doing gymnastics and horse riding are very unlikely to damage girl’s hymen normally.

Straddle injuries (falling onto a solid object with your legs open) may cause damage to girl’s hymen and other tissues.

  • Virginity is a made up concept to begin with. The individual can decide when they've taken the real step into their sexuality. Think about what the line is for you, don't let anyone else tell you what it is.

It isn't real. There are no rules. It does not matter in the long run to anyone but you and your own comfort in exploring sex.

    • Amazing response thank you! I’ve been confused on this concept because of the many opinions about it.

    • "Virginity is a made up concept to begin with" "Sealed box is made up concept to begin with"... is it?

  • Virginity is a social construct.

There are ways to break the hymen that have nothing to do with sexual intercourse, so its condition is not the deciding factor.

Many believe that rape isn't the loss of virginity.

So self penetration certainly isn't the loss of virginity.

We generally consider men to have lost their virginity when they first have sex, even though there is no physical difference.

So if a man doesn't lose his when he masturbates, neither does the woman.

  • Absolutely!! Being a virgin means no guy has ever put his dick inside of your pussy and no guy has ever cum inside of your pussy. You can ride a Sybian all day every day and still be a virgin.

  • yes, still a virgin in my opinion. toys don't count, needs to be 2 people, 2 body parts

  • The normally accepted definition of the end of your virginity is when you first welcome a penis into your vagina. Everything else is thought of as being sexually active. That includes using toys like dildos that will obviously break your hymen. So carry on enjoying your virginity until you decide to end it

  • A broken hymen is not a measure of if a girl is a virgin.
Asside from that penis in vagina action is mainly considered when virginity is lost!

  • The simply intelligence that some people have these days defies belief. smh

Congratulations on winning a Troll of the day award.

    • *simple*

    • Coming from someone who can’t type “simple” on their first try commenting then posting it lol

    • At least I realised my mistake and rectified it.

  • Virginity ends only with PIV or PIA intercourse.

  • Yes, she sure is.

  • Obviously

  • girl you are stupid

  • You have to have sex with a penis. Toys don't count.

  • Depends on how big the dildo is and where she’s putting it. But technically ur not a virgin if ur using toys but u still are because u haven’t had sex physically with someone else.

  • If you have popped your own cherry then you're not a virgin anymore whether it is a real dick or fake your pussy has been popped 😂

  • masturbation is self-exploration and self-pleasure.
on the other hand, sex is the experience as a couple and society has built the belief that whoever has not maintained this type of contact with someone else is a virgin.

Virginity is the concept that defines that a person has not been with someone else. (regardless of sex)

  • Yeah because you need to have sex with someone and penetration to not be a virgin

  • No
    Her pussy get fucked lol

  • Yes. Still a virgin.
