  • You think child porn just goes? Just gets ignored? If any of the services finds child porn, they purge the account and ban it. Its a criminal offense for even to allow these tech companies to host child porn. So they HAVE to invest in good tools that can identify these and eliminate the user when found.

Child porn is ACTIVELY being blocked constantly. But it is also constantly being uploaded. Even if 99.9% effective blocking is done, some does get through. And this is only on the public channels. On private channels, like private storage, google can't access these unless specifically allowed by users.

Remember the Yahoo purge? Tumblr purge? It was getting very costly for tumblr to differentiate between child porn and regular porn. And google had warned them against this content. So instead, they took the decision to block all porn. Which allowed them to stay in marketplace. But costed them lots of users.

Same applied for Parler as well. They were warned. And given the severity, then banned from Google store and app store. I assume you can still download it from third party. But fortunately, none of these people are that smart. So, Parler lost lots of users. And hence, had to be shut down.

You can't always have your way. Learn to accept consequences of your actions. Free speech comes with a responsibility.

    • Why is free speech only for liberals?

    • No its for both. If liberals calls for violence unprovoked, report that post. And see that it also gets taken down. Account gets blocked. Trump was able to get away for so long because his account had special privileges. Those were lifted after the capitol attack. And his account was treated like a normal person. Hence he was banned.

    • Liberals did incite violence during the floyd protests. They said we tried peace it didn't work..

  • It's increbyly complex because child sexual abuse material ( CSAM) is not exposed obviously. The ones who produce such materials, the ones who makes a black market out of it and several of the consumers are many times very good, or even professionals in computer science, which means they hide tracks and use codes.

THORN is one of the biggest tech companies that have helped law enforcement to crack down CSAM producers, providers and consumers. According to what I've read, they don't seek for individuals, their main interest is on groups, like: forums, video streaming websites, group blogs. Is more practical to burn a wasp hive than to go for the wasps, one by one. Like what Thorn many times exposed, CSAM is linked to human traffic. Human traffic is linked to CSAM, and the CSAM is linked to human trafficking. Both are synonymous, although human trafficking covers a lot more; CSAM is just an extension. There is an underworld I think nobody really wants to know. Our economy is connected to it and sadly I think our only salvation is to hold on to the utopia that the underworld that exist, will dissapear, otherwise, where our hope would rely?

  • Google and apple chose to not support downloading the app.

Last i checked there are no child porn sites that are downloadable on any of their sites.

Also as for Amazon they do not have contracts that allow child porn sites to use their services either.

Fbi and cyber security investigates and arrests the people who operate illegal child porn sites because they hack into the internet.

Unless you feel parler hacked into Amazon's services and they hunted down their secret operations and shut them down this is completely different.

Unfortunately there are a lot of sites out there exploiting children for sex

The reason we still see child porn is because it makes 20billion a year, so lots of sick people profit off it.

It's the same reason the police arrest people daily, yet we still have crimes committed.

It will sadly always be an on going fight.

  • cp is on the dark web mostly, and that's not owned by big tech. on the surface web it's really hidden usually and big tech also already does a lot to get rid of what they can. facebook, youtube & instagram for ex have special employees that try to find cp and stuff like that on their platforms and give as much info as they can to law enforcement & the fbi. but that's the most they can really do. it's not 'easy' to get rid of it.

it's conspiratorial to be like "oh big tech runs cp shit or want to keep it running for profit". i'm pretty sure by the way that number is bs. child porn does racke in $$ but not billions i'm sure lmao, only benefits abusers & traffickers anyways. bc it's litterally dark web stuff

  • They can't find it all. Big difference between shutting down one provider and pursuing thousand and thousands of individual users.

    • exactly. i mean they still didn't manage to shut down illegal movie streaming and they actually do have big financial interest to do that.

    • @genericname85 That's in large part because of some clever coders and being offshore.

    • Yeah same for every internet crime.

  • They are Liberals and Elite. xx

  • I'm pretty sure they do whenever they find it.

  • Because they are pedophiles and are slowly conditioning people into pedophilia

  • ima say it’s bc lots of powerful people are unfortunately involved with child porn so it’s difficult to shut that down

  • Because child porn is already illegal whereas Parles depends on those tech giants. Parler can´t function without the help of Amazon &Co. Child porn is illegal and it´s not shared on the big social media plattforms.

  • One word, M O N E Y.

  • I don’t even know what Parler is.

  • They do. But a lot of these websites are based in foreign countries. Basically they are underground and off the radar. They shut one down and two more appear in its place.

  • How could they shut down child porn when its already illegal to post it up on sites just the other day most the official branding porn sites got nuked from space and had to delete most there content because cp was found amongst there content

    • And all off that money mad is illegal its not for the most part not tracable or on the base form off the Internet

    • Do u know how the Internet works to be making statements like this?

    • Nobody has control over the dark Web links can be put up as fast as they are taken down and Google can't do anything about it because they have no control over things that they don't host

  • Because unlike childporn, Parler isn't on the black web.

Banning child porn isn't as simple as a few clicks like well known site like Parler.

If it was they would've done that shit by now.

    • @marish01 I guess, don't mock me because I'm no expert on the subject, but it's not going to keep me from trying to answer the question. I want the Xper. Anyways, I don't know, I mean why else have they not done it?

  • Because all porn is a distraction from reality. If we are looking at vaginas, we are not watching our "leaders". The swamp (both reps and dems) could not care less about child porn.

  • these aren't equivalent.

Plenty of websites that are used for child porn get shut down (while others attempt to moderate it).

    But new ones pop up.

Without getting carried away about definitions, the equivalent of 'shutting down child porn' is 'shutting down terrorism discussion'. Both are ongoing pursuit of new forums that pop up.

I sort of think infiltration and creating rampant paranoia among problematic cells are more promising.

    • They are closed groups. I can't imagine how fucked up they are. Any attempt to infiltrate those groups would make even a mental health specialist go mentally screwed.

    • @diegoo plenty of people do exactly that job. That said they are trying to move a lot of it to AI, which obviously allows reviewing more material but also saves normal people from having to deal with as much. Microsoft donates a fair bit to police departments on that end.

  • Parler: A contained app/website with traceable servers and employees that relies on google/apple to share their product

Child porn: Spread by millions of strangers on thousands of online locations through darkweb sites and secure servers that don't operating on a mainstream apps or platforms that can easily be traced.

Also, that's not Google or Apple's job? There are specific branches of government in charge of finding and removing child porn from the internet. Tech companies aren't responsible for location illegal content

  • There is too much money in child porn.

  • Because pedophilia is a common occurnace within elite circles.

  • Evidently Jeff Epstein's proclivity for child sex trafficking is a hobby shared by a number of people in power. I'm not too sure why it is we have so many diddlers in government. One would think that running the government would take up more of your day. These people somehow have the time to consume MOUNTAINS of drugs, fondle their secretaries, run sex slaves, and profiteer off armed conflict; so I really feel like I'm not being productive enough.

  • odd. according to the news a minute ago. parler was denied use of servers by big tech (amazon in particular) for refusing to take down content that promotes violence (partially reffering to the US capitol riot). nothing was mentioned about anything pornographic.

  • Dollar, Dollar, "BILLS!" Hunny!

  • Excellent question!!!
And why no politician from either side hasn't brought this up either... spot on.
