If I'm always into older guys (at least 4 years and at most 20 years) does it necessarily mean that I've got some issues?

  • I think 4 years is fairly standard. And the fact that you have an upper limit diminishes the chance that you have any sort of serious issue. I mean, as someone who likely would be at your max limit, I can say that if I thought a girl your age was taking me seriously, I would suspect she still wished for someone younger. And that is likely the case with you as well.

    So, if there is any sort of issue you might have it is likely suspicions of inadequacy. But that assumes you aren't genuinely attracted to guys my age - merely tolerant. Anyway, pretty much everyone feels inadequate from time to time, so it's no big deal really..

  • you could have some issues, depends upon what your underlying attaction is. here's some examples.

    You were assaulted by an older uncle as a child - this would be a problem, get therapy!
    You like people who are mature and settled, you value financial security rather than youth - I don't see a problem here.

    so it depends... I always was drawn to older women as a child and teen. I never really liked young girls (like my age or less). I found them too..."girly". I liked the mature, confidence and stature.

  • Could be either way. Maybe you're just mature for your age, so you're attracted to older guys. It could also be looking for a substitute older brother type or even father figure, but that would depend on your circumstances growing up.

  • 4 years older at 24 is perfectly within your age range. It is not “ older” older is like 40. Guys don’t really finish growing till 25 so it’s normal to find slightly older attractive when you see 20.

  • no it just means you have complicated wants and not everyone meets that standard which complicates things for some people. though some people take to it like a fish in water.

Also, I'm not particularly craving stability at the moment like I used to, I'm kind of okay with the crazy life.
