If my best guy friend and I lose our virginity to each other, do you think that would negatively affect our friendship?

    If it’s “let’s experiment and get this over with” you could stay friends. If it’s “I think I love you let’s try this thing out” it typically doesn’t end well.


    Best to get all expectations out of the way and discuss it like crazy unless you are both really into each other and want to move on to boyfriend/girlfriend

  • Been there myself and it messed up our friendship. It was great at first but after a while we couldn’t separate friendship from feelings and it made everything awkward.

  • It will almost certainly affect your friendship. Positive or negative is hard to say. Catching feelings would count as what? Deciding you want to do it more often as something else? Even just knowing what you both look and sound like naked will of course change your relation to some extent.

    So change. Absolutely. I would imagine if you are both willing / wanting it is more likely positive than negative. But who can tell?

  • If you are good friends, and you are attracted to each other, and willing to have sex together, why wouldn't you explore having a relationship with him? Ladies always say that they want their romantic partner to be their best friend and then, when they have the opportunity to make that happen, they trot out this lame explanation that "I don't want to take a chance on losing our friendship." Having a romantic partner is just as important as having a best friend and you have the chance to have he ideal romantic partner.

    You've gotta take a chance if you wanna find romance.

While I generally wouldn’t have a problem with getting together with a friend, in this case I’m in the process of looking for a guy to be my fiancé, and even though I’m attracted to my friend, he doesn’t have to qualities I want in a husband, and I don’t want potential future partners to not approach me because they saw I’m already with someone. No strings attached sex is different to me though.

    • If you don't see him as a potential lifetime partner, then don't have sex with him if you want to maintain the friendship. Hw will your future husband feel about you having a guy friend who was previously your fuckbuddy. What will your fiancé/husband think when you have a two hour lunch with your "best guy friend?" Would you have any questions about his behavior if he spent long period of time with a girl who was previously a sexual partner?

I think the answer is yes but don't ignore the good feelings that can come from it.

    And, devise a plan together on how its going to go. I have been with two virgins. The first was an urgent, awkward mess. The second followed a plan that gave us both fond memories. Even though both of you are virgins, you can educate yourselves in advance online.
