As long as you take the pill on time everyday, and aren't taking any other medications or supplements that interfere with hormonal birth control, the chances of getting pregnant are slim. But, you should also make sure you've both been tested and are in a trusting and exclusive relationship.

I’ve always used condoms only and they’ve worked what I’m going to do with this is that with bc pills I’m planning to either have him pull out, only have sex when I’m not in my fertile window, or use a condom as well

That's the whole point of BC pills. And the majority of failures are either due to not taking it consistently, or taking other medications (most often antibiotics) that interfere with the pill's effectiveness. As long as you are double-checking drug interactions with anything you might be taking (doctor's don't always ask or offer this information), you'll be fine.
