In general (on average) do bisexual girls have a higher sex drive / greater libido?

This something that I've heard before, but is there any truth in it? I think testorenone levels are somehow related to bisexuality, so it seems conceivabe to me.

  • Yes, there is a direct link to testosterone levels and sexuality.

Men usually have an abundance of testosterone. We could lose some and still maintain a sex drive.
Women, on the other hand, NEED testosterone or risk losing their sex drive. Not only does testosterone control their sex drive, but it also alters their sexual preferences. Women who have higher levels of testosterone are usually more tom-boyish and become more attracted to other women.

There is a section of the brain called the hypothalamus which seems responsible for our sexual ability/preferences.
Women and gay men tend to have smaller hypothalamuses, with straight men's and lesbian women's being much larger. It is worth noting that the size of the hypothalamus relates directly to the levels of testosterone the person in question was subject to during their fetal stages in life.

    TLDR:
Testosterone makes you like women, less makes you like men.

    • "Testosterone makes you like women, less makes you like men." For women, or for men too?

    • For both.

    • So you think a testosterone injection would 'cure' male homosexuality?

  • Everyone has estrogen and testosterone but they don't work the same. Testosterone affects men's libido. Estrogen affects women's.

    • "testosterone is the hormone most critically implicated in the maintenance of libido, or sexual desire, in women just as it is men".

      www.abc.net.au/science/slab/testost/story.htm

    • Test plays a role in the production if estrogen. Estrogen is a primary sexual hormone in women. That psychiatrist has a belief. That's not science.

    • Well... kinda. Men don't have estrogen, but women have both estrogen and testosterone. Estrogen is what controls your woman-specific needs, and low quantities can actually reduce your vaginal walls and vaginal fluids, making sex very uncomfortable. Testosterone is what gives you body hair, muscle, and sex drive. With no testosterone, you won't want sex. Too much testosterone won't necessarily make you extremely horny, though. As long as you have your body's minimum limit of testosterone, more of it just makes you grow more hair and some muscles.

  • I don't think this is true. I'm bisexual, and my sex drive is low compared to what I read on here.

    • Low compared to other women?

    • How often would you want sex on average? (If you don't me asking.) More than once a week?

    • Yes 2-4 Times a week.
