Irony of LGBTQIA+?

They’re striving for attention by labeling themselves when also demanding we make the idea sexuality more fluid.

I’m hoping it’s a phase that soon will fizzle and all labels will be let go. And allow humans to be fluid.

  • For me, the main thing is it being a safe and welcoming environment for a son or daughter to come out as gay, lesbian, bi to their parents without fear of violence, being evicted from the house.

it is wrong on so many levels that a child should live in fear of their parents, simply because they are sexually attracted to the same sex.

by being more welcoming it will allow young adults space to develop emotionally and in safety of their own home.

the rest of it is about finding yourself as a person, having that space and headspace to develop and influence your life choices.

I would sooner have a young employee, that has went through this earlier in life, than going through it at 20 when working for me.

what is wrong with simply being nice to each other.

yeah some of the extremist element. Is bollox and far to political, however that does not stop any of the above.

Then maybe Brad or Jennifer may not live in fear of a parent finding out they are dating someone from the same sex.

imagine your kids being terrified of you (collective), how fucking shameful would that be as a parent?

  • Well unfortunately or fortunately depending on your point of view it isn't a phase it's a condition of birth. In fact it's not even a condition of birth is the condition of conception light green eyes or blue eyes or skin color or something like that. People don't get a choice about their skin color eye color and they don't also don't get a choice about their sexual orientation.

  • Well, that does make some sense. You probably want humans to "be whatever they want to be" and maybe to maintain "a sense of exploration" when it comes to their sexuality and other traits and interests.

If that is the case, I think I do agree with the second part which is maintaining a sense of exploration.

However I think you are overlooking or downplaying the important role a well-formed identity plays in how well we function in every day life.

  • I don't even know what half the letters stand for even buddy 🤷

  • I think it's a two stage process; first: get people to accept that there are lots of other people who are "different", which gives them a sense of security and, normalises members of the group, second: move on to showing we're all just people.

Gay marriage support has gone from 30-70 support to 70-30 over the last few decades; it's an approach that works.
