Many on the market are clear polyester or polycarbonate plastic (as in eyeglass lenses). A truck could not break them. But there will be visual distortion. I would consider a tempered glass scientific test tube. They will break if dropped on a hard surface but not a carpeted floor. You would need only inspect it for cracks before using it.
