Sounds pretty normal to me. Lol! I think it is particularly more fun when you are in that new relationship phase. A lot of girls enjoy buying new bikinis and lingerie for their new lover. But when you look especially good in those styles it is more fun for everyone and I think you are also getting a bit of the pleasure push from your fun of everyone thinking you look so hot!

Weird it could be to some but weird it might not be to others. As for you there’s nothing wrong with buying new underwear especially if you are showing it off to that special someone or your underwear has skid marks. On the other side of things save your old underwear because believe it or not people buy that shit online so sell sell sell & cut me a commission.
