No it is not a good idea. Not only is it an uncomfortable experience first time anyway but doing it with a random object such as a pen may cause extra discomfort due to sharp edges etc. plus I don't think it's particularly safe.
What I would recommend is using your fingers or even buying a small sex toy. Make sure though that you are properly lubed up as it is going to be uncomfortable at first. And also when you do eventually have sex it will still be uncomfortable as it is a totally different experience with a real penis and your hymen may also still bleed as it gets stretched further :)

Well I didn't use them for that reason when I started using them, I just wanted to experiment. After though, I thought it could be a useful way to avoid bleeding during first time sex, but that didn't happen lol I still bled. It isn't a lot of blood though, so don't worry. Can I also say though, that many women bleed even years after losing their virginity, because things can happen. It's not painful though, even the hymen fully breaking isn't particularly painful. The pain comes when you're not relaxed and you're worrying to much so you're tense. Plus it hurts a lot less with real sex instead of with toys or other objects.

If you know it, then you should know that there's no such thing as "breaking" your hymen. Your hymen has nothing to do with your virginity. You only lose your virginity when you have sex with someone.
