Is it legal for me to get circumcised in the United States?
I’m and adult woman and would like to get circumcised. Is that legal in the United States or should I go out of country?

  • FGM is illegal in most countries. No western doctor will circumcise a woman without life-threatening illness as the reason.

It's medically unnecessary and not cosmetic.

Why would you want your ability to enjoy sex to be permanently removed?

  • Circumcision is the removal of the foreskin from the human penis. In the most common procedure the foreskin is extended with forceps, then a circumcision device may be placed, after which the foreskin is excised

Your no women if you want this done

    • I’m taking about a clitoridectomy

  • That would not be an issue at all as all you are doing is removing the hood from around the clit.
Now I have NO IDEA why any woman would want to do this, but quite sure is some wacko wanted it done it would be legal.

  • You gotta be trolling as no woman in her right mind would want that to happen to her.

    • Took the words out of my mouth. Either that or it's a guy with a weird fetish.

    • @Silvershadegirl hey guys actually I’m posting this anonymously because I don’t want to be fetishized. And this has more to do with body and sexual dysmorphia than anything else.

    • Asker, what the heck does it have to do with sexual dymorphia? In simple terms, why do you want this and how do you think it will help you?

  • What in the world are you on about?

  • Why? That is my question! Why destroy the female ability to receive pleasure? There is no such thing as female circumcision. It’s literally just butchering of the genitalia.

    • Okay I’ll rephrase that, is choosing to get an elective clitoridectomy legal in the United States

  • are you saying you want to have someone perform FGM on you? Why on earth would you want to do that to yourself?

  • I think it's illegal for you. Might depend on the state though.

  • That’s an original troll question.

    • Actually it’s not Chris, I’m asking if an elective clitoridectomy is legal in the untied states

  • How on earth does a woman get circumcised? Isn't this for men? Are you talking about getting a hysterectomy?

    • You remove the skin covering the clit. It's called the hood

    • In this case I’m referring to a clitoridectomy

  • Problems would be finding a doctor willing to do it. Passing an extensive psych screening, and have the ability to pay for it yourself. It won’t be covered by insurance, as it’s elective.

  • No, no, no... don't do it

  • I believe female genital mutilation known as female circumcision which is the removal of the clitoris is it illegal in the United States however it is still practiced but most cases is brutally done and without an anesthetic

  • No? why on earth would circumcision be illegal? It has no real negative nor positives and does no harm and is sometimes needed for tight foreskin problems.

Illegalisation of circumcision would be pointless thing for any country to do.

    • Tell the screaming baby that it does no harm, or is it ok since they won't remember the agony? How about the botched circumcisions? How about the sensitivity loss due to constantly having your glans out? It's a barbaric practice. And typically illegal to do to girls, just nobody gives a shit about the boys.

    • A baby been hurt by such a thing is trivial and yes they won't remember nor does it hurt later. Plus they actually numb it anyway. Oh a botched one? so all medical things are bad because they can all go wrong wow smart argument must be a real anti medical science guy. Sensitivity loss is literally nothing. You do realise the extra skin that gets taken off is not the thing that gives you the pleasure or sensitivity? that's the head mate which is still fine and the so called sensitivity loss is Widley subjective overexaggerated rubbish from people who don't actually know the difference. It barley has no actual impact. And when i have mine, i can tell you afterwards how basically nothing changed just now i don't have a weird part of skin covering my head for no reason. If something goes wrong then i will happily tell you oh no you were right. But that will not happen obviously.

  • I believe a federal law was passed making female circumcision illegal in the United States, but that law was determined to be unconstitutional. Still, I believe that most states have their own laws against it.

  • There's two variations. One is outright clitoridectomy I think it's illegal.
The other is snipping the "prepuce" (hood) vertically up front. This is substituted for male circumcision in other countries. Neither is harmful.

  • Why on God's green earth would you ever want to do that? Thats no fun at all!

  • I think it’s legal but I really strongly recommend against it. I also don’t think you’ll find a doctor willing to do it. It’s not really circumcision. They chop your clit off!!!

  • Why do you want to remove your labia and clit?

    • A clitoridectomy

    • Why would you want that?

    • Body and sexual dysmorphia

  • Circumcision is a felony with 15 years of prison in USA.

    • Not according to the doctor that did my son’s at the request of his father.

    • Then why did you ask if you can get circumcised lol.

    • You answered your own question.

  • Yes it's legal, you can get a sex change or a nose job, that's a lot more complex :)

  • Surgeons will do anything you want then to here.

  • If that's something you really want there are people who will do it safely.

    • I really just wanted to know if a clitoridectomy was legal in the states

    • Short answer no. But like I said if that's something you really wanted then it's not impossible. If you would like to talk more though you can message me

  • Tell everyone what you mean.

    • Is it legal to get an elective clitoridectomy? That’s what I’d like to know

    • It seems to be done for emergency reasons on google, what's the reason for doing it?

    • Body and sexual dysmorphia
