Normal here is a yes and no. It's not normal because people on average wouldn't be but it's also very normal for people to not have average things turn them on.

While it doesn't do anything for me. my wife on the other had loves violent gory movies. I read an article that said it comes from the adereneline rush from panic. If someone was actually in the situation that someone in the movie was in they'd go into fight of light mode, at home watching movies that are like that still give you the fight or flight mode, and one of the ways to get rid of that feeling is to be turned on and horny.
