Is it normal for a woman to have a greater libido after the age of 30 or is something wrong with me?

I remember I did not even have 25 percent of the libido during my teens than what I have currently. It’s so embarrassing.

  • Despite pop psychology there DOES exist a subconscious 'biological clock'. ALL animals are driven to varying extent to reproduce their species although FEW species have as profoundly extensive repertoire of 'learning' to promulgate to the next generation. Also... NO other species is SO fixated on externally governing the onset of sexual experiences of its fellow peers! Your question exposes YOUR personal concern with peer 'normality' (am I normal'? Am I feeling 'aberrant'?)

Is it 'wrong' to NOW be keenly aware of MY OWN emergent PERSONAL sexual desire?
In part, its due to the underlying awareness of the biological waning of your Ovum's viability (menopause) and the myriad factors which influence whether You personally will CHOOSE to reproduce or merely enjoy the ancillary potential pleasure which accompanies /can 'reward' behaviors accompanying the courtship / impregnation processes. With amassed life experience, You can no longer plead ignorance to spontaneous impetuous choices devoid of their long-term consequences and so what you may be experiencing is mourning of that spontaneous youthful feigned ignorance, now worn thin by observation of Other's consequences.

  • No that’s a great thing , especially if you are in a committed relationship with someone , it’s only bad if you are running around screwing multiple people and stringing them along , but if you are in a committed relationship , your partner is going to be a happy man , most girls’ libidos die down as they get older and sadly That’s usually what causes most relationships to fail or end , when intimacy and affection starts to fade away when it never was an issue before. So coming from a guy’s perspective , you have nothing to worry about unless your partner doesn’t want to meet your wants and needs , then you might have a problem lol

    • Agree with you on this but now the problem is my partner isn’t keeping up with my needs and I am in a very weird situation.

    • Oh trust me I know the feeling , I been in your shoes , so possibly I can give ya some advice on this, depending on whatever the weird situation you are facing is? You don’t have to broadcast it on here, inbox me

  • 100% normal. You have more experience as you get older and you're more confident with your needs and wants, including your body. Also, having good health also gives a healthy libido.

  • Many women experience the peak of their libidos in their 30s. Enjoy it! Most men who find a woman with a high libido are extremely happy.

  • There is absolutely nothing wrong with that , you are ovulating at a higher level than you did previously , its a great time , just run with it..

  • Don’t worry it’s totally healthy, actually it’s been scientifically proven that women reach their most active sex life pr drive at around 35 up to 45

  • Embarrassing? Why?

    • Embarrassing because I get randomly aroused anytime during the day which never used to happen before.

    • Okay, and this is visible to others?

    • Not visible but this sudden change is affecting me

  • Yeah all the women in their thirties I've been with have typically put the college girls to shame.

  • It's normal.

  • No, it's perfectly normal, it's a good thing, it means you're well and you don't have a lot of stress, you do a lot of sport, you're happy with that and enjoy sexuality to the full.

  • I don't know if this is true but I think I've read that a woman's sexual peak is in your age range.

  • It's totally normal. Women in their late 30s have a really high libido.

  • When my wife was 36 her sex drive went through the roof. She went from wanting it about maybe once a week to wanting it almost every day. Before that she hardly ever initiated sex, during that time she not only initiated sex, she would demand it.

  • I think that's a loaded question, I think it depends on many things

  • Go, baby. Go! :D
Biologically, I'd expect libido to go down. But with increasing maturity we often overcome hindering cultural and social manipulation easier.

  • I am 34 and my libido is off the charts.

  • Why is it embarassing and what are you doing to satisfy your libido?

    • Embarrassing because I get randomly aroused anytime during the day which never used to happen before. I have a partner but he is also not able to keep up with my needs so it is a very weird situation

    • How many times does he help you to orgasm during a session? Have you got any special toys or kinks that aren't being addressed?

    • Sometimes one orgasm during a session and no I haven’t bought any toys to address the situation

  • Yeah it's normal.. Around 30 and the early 40s a woman's libido seems to increase.. For some reason as fertility starts to decline is when the libido starts to go up..

  • It's not wrong. It shows you are most fertile before you will decline. Have children or not, this is really your golden chance

  • Yes. Normal. A woman hits her sexual peak in her 30s.

  • Late 20s to early 40s is when most females sexual desire peaks.

  • You should be married with kids by now.
