There are cultural differences between your country and my country. If i need to speak according to my country's culture, it is normal if their child is under 5 years old. Then 5 years old it is anormal. For example if a dad continues to look his daughter's naked body after her 5, we say him "pervert". Allright if you have healthy problems, maybe your parents look your body for this, it can be. Your mother can look but it is interesting looking without any reason. But i do not know the culture in Canada, maybe it is normal there.

When i was growing up my dad used to use to use a belt obviously it would have been for a good reason. Yes! Got my ass busted a gazillion times for doing stupid stuff. Corporal punishment is GOOD thing for both parties. It teaches a child respect as well as responsibility for their actions. For the responsible parent, its a means of holding their child responsible and teaching them right from wrong. Just adds to a list of options for parents. That said, it should only be used as a last resort and a corrective measure and generally after the parents emotions have subsided subsequent to the childs unwanted behavior.
