Is it possible for my girlfriend to get period while pregnant?

So me and my girlfriend had sex without condom and 1 week later she got her period. Is it possible that she would get pregnant from the sex we did before her period? Because she's been having pregnancy symptoms lately. I checked online and she got 10 out of 12. So I'm kinda worried... I told her to do the pregnancy test, but she said she wanted to do with me. I'm outstation working now, will be back after 9 days. Just want to confirm myself before we do the test.

she got those symptoms in just 1 week! Like feeling nausea like vomiting, headache, constipation, hungry, mood swing, gassy tummy, bloated, lower back pain and tired most of the time.

And also, she’s having watery transparent liquid flowing down her vagina. It’s like a transparent water discharge or something... is it possible it’s a sign of pregnancy?

  • Yes it is possible. A good percentage of women still have periods while pregnant. Pregnancy symptoms and period symptoms are very similar so she may just be late. She really ought to just do the test on her own. They're inexpensive. The sooner you know the sooner you two can do something... either prepare to be parents or exercise your right to choose.

    • True, but I would like to find out with her. Both of us are young, I don't want her to stress herself out alone.

    • Menstruating while being pregnant is impossible. Some women might have some bleedings throughout the pregnancy, due to implation or medical issues. It's not normal at all to bleed while pregnant and it definitely doesn't release an egg.

    • @yougurt Then its not possible for her to get pregnant then. Because after we had sex without condom, few days after her period comes. After her period we did have sex, but with protection, I just don't understand why is she having all those symptoms that I've listed above. Feels like she's pregnant.

  • What she is likely feeling is PMS symptoms which are very similar to pregnancy symptoms. Most women don't get those symptoms until 10 to 12 weeks of pregnancy.
As for the test, let her wait until you are home, because regardless of the results, the outcome will remain the same whether you wait or not.

    • she got those symptoms in just 1 week! Like feeling nausea like vomiting, headache, constipation, hungry, mood swing, gassy tummy, bloated, lower back pain and tired most of the time. Yeah, told her to wait for me.

    • Almost every woman gets those symptoms during or right before her period. Her body is going through a hormonal change while it gets rid of last months lining. That causes everything you've mentions as well as breast tenderness and flutters in the lower abdomen

    • Ahh I see, the thing is she’s always get her period late. And it’s only been 20ish days since she last period, do you think she’s gonna get another one now? Because she’s not having any period right now. And also, she’s having watery transparent liquid flowing down her vagina. It’s like a transparent water discharge or something... is it possible it’s a sign of pregnancy?

  • Not possible. She might have an infection. If it gets worse, take her to the doctor.

  • No, the bleeding could have other causes. Either way, she needs to see a doctor.

  • No, it is physically impossible for a woman to get period while pregnant.

    • I am so confuse. Tbh I checked online, some said they can’t some said they could :( me personally don’t think they can, but I’m not sure myself.

    • There is nothing to be confused about. It is impossible to be pregnant and get period at the same time. It IS possible that she mistook implantation bleeding for period, however.

    • The the bleeding lasted for 4 days... I thought implantation bleeding supposedly to be 1 day?
