Is it sexual assault if your boyfriend touches your boobs without consent?

Some people believe that you have to constantly ask for consent even if it is with your partner.

  • Uh yea? I don't think I ever signed an agreement that said since now we are together my body belongs to you and you can touch it whenever you feel like it.

Its assault if she tells you no or gives you a sign (moves your hands) that she's not enjoying this. It's also assault if she doesn't! Woman can feel pressured or feel threatened into it and not want to speak up. Of course the likelyhood of this is very minimal but the thought process as to not having to concsent with a partner is nonsensical.

  • If she's your girl I suppose you can do it if she's allowed it before HOWEVER, if she says no or stop, it should be respected and not continue simply because she is your girl and a good relationship is based on respect after all.

If you guys haven't gone that far before, then no you cannot touch if she's not inviting you to do it...

So in my opinion, only if she's allowed it before, but be prepared to stop if she suddenly decided it's not okay for whatever reason she may have.

  • my boyfriend can touch them whenever he wants unless I told him something else or it's a place where it's obvious that I won't like it

  • Well I mean if you touch them or try to and she's like pushing you away or physically or verbally saying no then obviously yeah.

but she doesn't need to give verbal consent every time you want to touch em I mean if in the heat of the moment you hands wonder that way and she doesn't stop you or resist you in anyway then it's most likely ok.

  • depend on the situation , if he has touched them before and thinks your ok with it , be hard to prove you were uncomfortable with his actions. however if he had never touched them before and made a grab for them , it might be considered sexual assault , depending on the circumstances

  • Yes, is say that is it. Especially if I asked him not to do that. Same with the ass.

    • So do you ask permission to touch him every time you want to?

    • I'm not touching private parts. Boobs are covered by a swimsuit so, they're private.

  • If you have established ongoing consent, then it's not sexual assault unless she tells you to stop.

  • No, that's silly. If that were the case, why would he even be your boyfriend?

    • That's what I'm thinking.

  • Depends on the type of relationship you both have. If he has never done it before, and then out of the blue grabs them, then I would be pissed off, but if you know each other for a while and suddenly he grabs them I would slap him back on his butt only to make sure we're on the same page ;)

  • Haha no, the only time it's assault is when I feel forced or threatened. My guy literally gropes me all of the time. But he'd never continue to touch me if I told him to stop.

  • It doesn't always have to be a vocal "OK" in a relationship but when she's giving you the vibe or signs like body language making it obvious that she doesn't wanna be touched it does qualify as sexual assault if you touch her anyways.
It's also incredibly rude & disrespectful. Just because you are in a relationship with someone doesn't mean you're entitled to their body or anything else for that matter.

  • Unless you've previously told him in the past that he can't, there's no possible way it could be sexual assault. Since the two of you are in a relationship, you've already given him implicit permission to touch your body in any reasonable way. On the other hand, if he kept touching you after you said "stop", that would be sexual assault.

  • I dont mind if my boyfriend touches mine. As long as he doesn't do it in public. He doesn't though...

  • I mean did he just flat out grab them randomly?
Or was it, you were making out and one thing let to another?

  • It depends on her reaction.

  • Funny that this video is 10 years old and now it's reality.

  • My boyfriend touches my boobs all the time. I don't give a shit.
Depends on what her boundaries are, I guess.

    • Have you ever heard about Affirmative consent? Its crazy.

  • Technically yes, but generally speaking if you are in a sexually involved relationship with someone there is "implied consent" that sexual actions are okay. If you want to avoid being in court, however, it's best to get a verbal "yes" confirmation.

    • Having to get permission to do anything is a sure way to kill foreplay. And no foreplay, no nookie.

    • @JenSCDC Which is why most couples have the "implied consent" format.

  • if my girlfriend loses her shit and makes a sexual assault debate when i do it, i´ll dump her straight away. not having that bullshit.

  • I don't think so unless u tell him to stop n he keeps doing it

    • Affirmative consent is a new law which says it is assult.

  • there are people who get laid and there are these who believe you need to constantly ask consent to touch your partner.

  • No I don't believe it is, but that just my opinion

  • I think the wrong idea is thinking you have entitlement over another person's body just becuase you're dating them.

    • So do you ask your boyfriend for consent every time you kiss or touch him?

    • Yes, becuase it would be my horror to assume I can do anything and risk him being uncomfortable by forcing myself on him. Plus, I prefer dating for a long period of time to see where we were before anything physical.

    • What makes you assume that the boyfriend thinks he has any sense of entitlement over his girlfriend's body? I'd say that it's much more likely that he honestly thinks that either a) she'll enjoy it or b) if she doesn't she still wouldn't mind. Do you ascribe everything everybody does to evil motivations?

  • If you've been sexually active before I don't think so. My boyfriend grabs my boobs all the time. I don't mind

  • My crush did this. He's 20. I'm 16. It's okay with me. Because I really like him and In a relationship and marriage what's mine is his and what's his is mine.
