In addition, I have seen some of the worst women you can imagine. The street strollers found in the inner cities are really bad: strung out on drugs, no hygiene at all and usually full of diseases. The lowest of the low are the Lot Lizards who hang out at the truck stops and bother the heck out of us late at night.

In contrast, I traveled out to Nevada several times and witnessed the Bordello system out there and came away wondering why this great nation does not embrace this concept.
As a fellow tax-paying American, I feel this is the best way to curb the spread of disease, clean the streets of the nasties, put a tighter clamp on any child prostitution and in many ways, leave women in general society alone.
Look at how this is done in Nevada:
- The women there are safe from crime, drugs and are constantly monitored for diseases.
- Though I cannot provide and hardcore statistics, many of the residents in Nevada have told me that the divorce rate, rape and child assault crimes in Nevada are minimal because of the brothels.
- Almost all of the houses are out of plain site, eliminating the argument that children who see these places are irrevocably brain damaged.
- The folks are used to them for the fact that nobody bothers anyone.
- None of the brothels I have visited ever had any problems with violence. Something about sex really brings peace to a man.
- Some of the places I have visited stated that the bordello system is one of the first lines of defense against child trafficking.
Now I am certain many of you are vehemently opposed to this, due to God`s Law and such. But there really is no better way to deal with this. If legalized prostitution was instituted through the 50 states, online predators and sex crimes against underage children would almost disappear. Why take chances when there are legal alternatives? Always made sense to me.
In addition, I feel sexual harassment charges would drop dramatically. No reason for a man to ask a woman out for a dating risking any sort of legal troubles when he can just save money and party at the cat-house.
Finally, it does indeed bring in money into our crashing economy. Some argue that our government cannot find a way to tax the sex-industry: HOGWASH! Believe me, our government specialized in taxation.
Let's face it folks, prostitution is almost regulated in one form or another in every first world nation except for 49 states in the USA. The way our law enforcement goes about prostitution is not a good way either. Sure they make arrests and print names in websites and newspapers but is this the best way to go about it? I say no.
Some can argue about how this will ruin our children, I can counter on how several other things are worse: drugs, smoking, mindless violence to name a few. Are kids really as stupid as us grownups claim them to be? If they are, it`s our fault for not teaching them in a way so they CAN understand.
I say the Obama Administration should seriously look into this. We can solve a big problem with a successful long term problem. How each state dictates policy is up to them. This country can move forward and improve a very vital aspect of society if we can regulate and legalize prostitution properly now and not later.

Totally agree- to those who don't want their husbands/bfs going here, do you think that they would not use prostitutes if brothels are not available? Clearly, that is not the case. So, bottom line, would you rather risk diseases and heartbreak, or just the heartbreak?
America is too conservative, and too prudish, to do anything so sensible.
Prostitution is a victimless crime. It probably wouldn't cut the rate of other crimes if it were legalized, but it definitely has the busyness aspect.

It's about the power, control, and fantasy. Instituting prostitution does nothing for this. I mean, people know about this by watching basic CSI shows.
I'm christian and very against pre-marital sex or sex outside of marriage, but I'm not going to preach to those who want it. if they do that, it should at least be safe and your article has many good points, including that the nevada brothels are out of sight of children which is very true. that's better than walking down the street with my child in a city and seeing hookers. great points.
prostitution should be legalised and regulated like any other activity. I can see no serious argument against this.
Slavery on the other hand is a different matter.people who enslave other people should be looking at very very long sentences.
This is why we should have legalised prostitution where every sex worker should be registered,regularly checked for std's and that they are not kept in slavery.
Actually, I heard Dr. Laura Schlessinger say on the radio that prostitution is a dying "industry" because nowadays women have lowered their standards so far that it's very easy for men to get casual sex for free. So in order to even stay in business prostitutes have had to do the really dirty stuff that most guys girlfriends just refuse to do. Personally I think It's all just disgusting, I'm a one woman man and would never cheat.
If I pay someone to kiss me that's fine but when I pay someone to have sex with me that is illegal? If they are consenting adults, who are to say we can't have them have sex if money is involved. What difference would it make if there was money and there wasn't money
Legalizing wouldn't change much: legalizing would signify collecting taxes and most prostitutes would continue "the old way", it wouldn't stop them from getting on drugs, from catching STD's, then dodging controls. There would be a few "legal", expensive prostitutes and lots of "illegal" cheaper ones, not very different from the present situation. Problem is that solliciting can be controlled and enforced, prostitution not. So they would just be legalizing sollictiting.
I think you just want to bang girls closer to home so you don't have to tell your mom where you went the last 4 nights. Your arguments of tightening the ring of child prostitution is unrealistic and doomed to fail to say the least. I think you should really read what you wrote and then slap yourself for wasting my time and your time.
How are legal brothels going to change the fact that some men are sexually attracted to children? Child trafficking is not because of an unavailability of adults, but because that is what is desired.

..Women always complain about guys being only out for sex, maybe they wouldn't be if they had that need tended to elsewhere. so why not allow prostitution in safe and healthy environment? and no one has a gun to these girls' heads, it's an occupational choice, and her boss won't kick her ass and keep her strung out on drugs like they do in unregulated prostitution. makes all the sense in the world to me. it's the world's oldest profession, for f*** sake!
...to strike out, go home alone, and even go on a pretty long cold streak. it's frustrating, and it gets lonely. I stop and think about the guys who have it worse than me, who might go YEARS without sex. there are just guys who aren't what women are looking for, and that SUCKS. so as humans, don't we have a "right to sex?" no sex can literally drive you crazy. so if girls are willing, why not allow them to get paid to have sex with these guys, or any guy looking for some fun for that matter.
you make a lot of good points. I've always felt prostitution should be legal. I don't know where society took a wrong turn and started viewing sex as some sacred act, only to be conducted under the most legitimate circumstances. give me a break...we're all just trying to get a nut here, haha.
