It is hard, yes. But, it depends on the circumstance. Like, if we're in public, then it's easy to control yourself. I mean. I don't get *that* horny much.
But, if you're in an intimate setting, alone, and you've been making out or rubbing and stuff like that, then yeah, it's *very* hard to control yourself. The desire is very strong. Just kissing can get it to that point where all you can think about is sex. But, at the end of the day, it just depends on if they're respectful enough to your own desires. Can they control themselves? Yes. Is it hard to? Yeah. I could be hornier than I've ever been before, but if she really doesn't want to do anything, then, I flop back on the bed, exhale, and repeat the phrase, "fuck." in my head until it goes away.
But, do I believe that that impulse controls their actions? No. I don't think so. Maybe for some guys, but most guys understand this key thing, even in the midst of that primal urge: if she doesn't want to, then she doesn't want to.
Saying that, we might do everything we can think of to get you to that point where you want to, but after complete failure, yes, we can control ourselves. But yes, it is hard to.
I guess you might relate it to the strongest desire you've felt. It's still strong, but it doesn't control your actions.
It's a choice if they choose to go further than you want. That choice might be influenced heavily by their desire at that moment, but they still decide to take their own actions.
Don't let 'em fool you into shirking responsibility for their actions.
Some people actually use this and similar statements as excuses for sexual abuse, so be careful.
As a person who likes it wild and "primal", I'll tell you: if the man is *sane*, there is no such thing as "the beast took over my mind and I could not stop it" - we may be like gushing flames through our nostrils, craving and drooling like there is no tomorrow, still we are in control, we can stop it if the woman says "no" for real. And, yes, depending upon the level of horniness we may be really really pissed off to a point if physically hurts to stop it abruptely, but doable, ok?
Now, if the partner is into it as much you are, and both trust each other, well... let the burning cloths rip and the walls melt away by heat. ;)

About the physiology of it, I could not answer, but the fact is that there may be some kind of "pressure", with some uneasy feeling on the man's stomach and sex bits - nothing that could "kill", though. :) I suspect the psychologic aspect of it and frustration may potentially "hurt" more. ;)

I certainly have no problem controlling myself when I am horny and I think most men will agree with me on that. However, there is a certain tension and you feel the urge to get rid of it.
In other words, you feel a strong need for sex and you want it increasingly badly the longer you stay horny, but I wouldn't say you'd 'lose control' or something like that. We do tend to not think things through when we're horny though :p
It's complicated. Being horny makes you very motivated to have sex. But a man must still be--and is--in control of his actions.
The problem with the perspective you described is that it could excuse abuse or violence. "I just couldn't control myself." No, a man can and must control himself and his actions.
1. There is a saying in Uganda 'An erect penis has no conscience' - true :)
2. The same holds true for both genders but the girls are made by nature in a way that they don't act the way guys do
3. However, there are exceptions to every rule though the percentage is skewed :)
4. For me when really horny, I'm much under control but yes the intensity goes up. However, it's not that I will force myself on anyone :)
5. Intensity though strong it sure never results in hurting the girl. There are guys who can't control so they wind up even hurting the girl even if unwittingly

Maybe other guys do but I can't say I behave that way, at least not in an extreme sense like its something that comes over me, although I will admit when I'm horny my mind is much dirtier, I think about things and want to say things that are not the sort of words to be shared in polite company. And I also notice im much more vigilant and aware of things around me when I'm horny, it's kind of like a hunter's instinct, "shhh, be very very quiet, I'm hunting for titties." Lol.

Yeah it is kind of like that, although it's not like you go out and attack a woman to bang her when you're horny, you just feel that way, the law and the tiny bit of morality hanging on to you psyche keeps your head level on those situations, lol.
