Is it worth it to become a stripper?

Do any of y'all feel stripping is worth it? I am a 21 year old woman considering going into stripping for various reasons and heard it can be an empowering experience, is this true?

  • I worked at a strip club as a bartender and it is only worth it if you do not care about getting wasted every night, do not care about random men thinking they have the privilege of touching you for sometimes no money in return, having days where you may only make $50 , putting yourself in danger of encountering a pimp/ drugs. I had anxiety almost every time before a shift working there, and I was just a bartender. Oh and they also don’t care if you celebrate holidays. I worked there on Thanksgiving day, the day before Thanksgiving, and Christmas ever :)

  • Ok, I know lots of strlpers, my girlfriend was stripping at your age and I can answer with a clear and honest, difenite... probably not. There are some that have the right head for it but mostly all I know will say its not worth it. You get to see the worst in men, your job is to work them out of as much money as you can and soon it will effect you and most likely turn you off to men along with how you talk and interact with people in a not so good, trashy kinda way. If you stay in it long enough the idea of prostitution and or porn won't seem like such a bad thing after shaking your money makers in the faces of some of the most gross examples of low class men and women but if you're just born trashy and have no conscience or guilt about that lifestyle, go for it! Maybe be a cam girl or a mature porn on the side for a few extra bucks? Save for your kids education or defense lawyer whichever comes first.

Secondly, if you're that desperate to become a stripper and you're borderline about to become one, don't, but if you are going to do so anyway, please read the book "My Life as a Pimp" By Ice Berg Slim. It's an autobiography of a pimp in the 60s I believe. He tells how men break women to make them use their bodies and give their pimp the money in the process. It could save you one day if you do decide to become a stripper or go even further than that.
