It is called sexting. Nowadays in digital world some people do it just to satisfy themselves and to feel the more pleasure.
It is not weird as it is done for fun and entertainment. If you both are comfortable then it is okay.

What is funny about it wasn't really sexting. It was more just asking each other various questions that just got us excited. We never said anything directly to each other.
in my opinion it is not funny but some people nowadays first talk on text just to get aroused and feel the pleasure. It is not weird. It's good that she wants to make you feel better.
