Is Masturbation Really A Sin Before God? Read On And Find Out!

Introduction:

I'm sick and tired of hearing that masturbation is a sin! No where in God's word (Bible) it ever instructs that God commanded that man or woman shoudn't masturbate. God lays out a series of moral codes that He declares sin such as adultery, envy, theft, drunkness, fornications like (homosexuality, rape, beastility, pedophile, incest, prostitution and sexual conduct outside of marriage) haterd, bitterness, unforgivness, arrogance, foul language, slander, reviling others, deceit, kidnapping, greed, dishonoring parents, murder, sorcery, fighting, cowardness and rudeness, but never mentions masturbation.

The whole idea that masturbation is a sin, it's man's idea not God's. Everything I'm about to discuss, I'm going to back it up with God's word since I believe God's word is the final authority, not man!

God's Word Is What Matters, Not Your Opinion!

A pair of misinterpretation of scriptures that I'm about to share would shed light on why many Christians think masturbation is lust and sinful when the context clearly has nothing to do with masturbation at all per se.

A dude named Er who God killed because He was evil left his wife childless and Er's Father told his other son Onan to marry her and get her preagant. However, Onan refused and rather used the pull out method and ejaculated on the ground during sex lest He get Tamar preagant. Onan sin was of disobedience to a ancient custom of giving a brother who died childless a heir, not for masturbation as many wrongly interpret scripture.

Genesis 38:6-10:

Then Judah took a wife for Er his firstborn, and her name was Tamar. But Er, Judah’s firstborn, was wicked in the sight of the Lord, and the Lord killed him. And Judah said to Onan, “Go in to your brother’s wife and marry her, and raise up an heir to your brother.” But Onan knew that the heir would not be his; and it came to pass, when he went in to his brother’s wife, that he emitted on the ground, lest he should give an heir to his brother. And the thing which he did displeased the Lord; therefore He killed him also.

Another misinterpret scripture is what Jesus said about adultery, not masturbation.

Matthew 5:27-28:

“You have heard that it was said to those of old, ‘You shall not commit adultery.’ But I say to you that whoever looks at a woman to lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart.

Ladies and gentlemen for adultery to take place at least one party has to be married. Two single people can't commit adultery. What the Lord Jesus is teaching is that if a married man or woman is lusting (desiring) after another person that isn't their spouse they have committed adultery in their heart just for desiring someone else.

No longer the physical act of sleeping with another person is adultery per se. But to just be looking and be having the desire to be with them is adultery within your heart, because it shows your intent.

And also if you are desiring the wife of another man or the husband of another woman that is adultery even though you didn't physically sleep with them. One of the moral commandments is to not covet the wife of your neighbor.

So this isn't about masturbation per se what Christ is teaching. Granted masturbating and thinking about another person spouse is sin.

However, It's perfectly fine for two single people to desire one another. Its natural for a man to desire a woman and a woman to desire a man. That is not a sin.

It's Up To Your Own Conscience.

Like I said at the beginning God points out clear sins for us not do, but on grey issues where He is silent on a particular matter, God leaves it to our own individual conscience to wheather decide if a matter is right or wrong. I'm going to use the principle of Romans Chapter 14 to make a point.

In that Chapter the Holy Spirit speaking apostle Paul on issues regarding Jewish Christians and Gentile Roman Christians who were debating about foods to eat and not eat and Sabbath day or what day to esteem more important etc.

The apostle writes to them telling them that one must be fully convinced in his own mind to what they are doing is right to them.

He goes on to say in Romans 14:22-23:

Romans 14:22-23:

Do you have faith? Have it to yourself before God. Happy is he who does not condemn himself in what he approves. But he who doubts is condemned if he eats, because he does not eat from faith; for whatever is not from faith is sin.

In other words He is saying you must have a clear and good conscience regarding something you are doing. To doubt what you are doing something is right or wrong for you personally, wheather its eating certain foods or whatever is violating your moral law conscience, therefore is sin before God. God wants us to have a clear and good conscience before him and not be feeling guilty, like it says in 1 Peter chap.3

James 4:17:

Therefore, to him who knows to do good and does not do it, to him it is sin.

Conclusion:

Is Masturbation Really A Sin Before God? Read On And Find Out!

God made us as sexual beings and to have desire for sexual pleasure and orgasm. That was God's idea and a gift for us to enjoy.

However, if masturbation is consuming your life all day and night then that's a problem; And you need to check that out because it isn't healthy. However, when you are feeling sexual and need a sexual release, masturbation can work fine to avoid sleeping around to those who are single and not married yet.😎

1 Corinthians 6:12:

All things are lawful for me, but all things are not helpful. All things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any.

  • Masturbation and porn are the number 1 causes of sexual and erectile dysfunction in young people today in which they are unable to get fully aroused or climax except by their own manual stimulation and often alone as masturbation has blunted their sexual responses and warmed their mind.

  • Masturbating is not a sin , even if it was i would still jack off because i tried no fap and it negatively affected my life.(always horny, wet dreams, can't focus on schoolwork, etc)

    • It will be ridiculous to be a sin. Imagine a person in prison for years. What is He or She suppose to do when they feel sexual tension? We all as humans need orgasms. We are sexual begins period. Nothing wrong with being sexual alone.

    • It is a sin. According to the Bible "wasting your seed" is reason to be put to death.

  • i think it is okay to do it if you are too horny not to have sex before marriage. but if it becomes a habit it is sin.

    • I agree. If it becomes a uncontrollable habit where it consumes a person mind day and night, then like it says you can become under bondage to it and that can lead to a bad path. But if under proper control, I don't see the problem, since we are sexual beings. I respect Christians that rather not masturbate, but to shame and impose your personal conscience on others for it, I think it's wrong when God's word is silent on the matter.

    • Hammer on the nail head with this point
