Is sex like a drug?

In a way, isn't too much of it similar to getting drugged? This is what sex can cause:
- Forgetting to focus on other qualities in a healthy relationship
- Paying hookers and having constant urges for random sex like no tomorrow
- Several men getting so desperate to the point of sending porn pictures to women... irritating the hell out of us
- Some women trying to change players that only use them for sex; confusing love for moments of worthless lust
- Losing the natural ability to actually bond with a partner

If you come to think about it, if the only thing special in a person is rubbing your skin against them and having orgasm.. but then nothing else beyond that... it seems like you're drugged.

  • Yes, it is an addiction. It is a consequence of our creation, needed in order to survive as a species. Deaths in childbirth. Deaths from disease. Deaths from tribal combat. Deaths from starvation in droughts. It was necessary to fukk every female in sight and keep them pregnant in order not to go extinct. This is not an excuse to tom around. It is a consequence of history. It was the stronger men... better combatants, better immune systems, better hunting skills that enabled Homo Sapiens to survive. But that desire to fukk is in our blood from puberty onward.

  • ANY kind of addiction that negatively effects your life or the lives of those around you is not good!!

Obviously, when addiction is mentioned, substance abuse addiction immediately comes to mind for the vast majority of people due to many different reasons. However since addiction has both a physical AND a mental aspect to it, people can become "addicted" to literally ANYTHING!!!

So short answer YES can be like a drug but it doesn't mean it has to be. The ironic part? Just like drugs, sex effects different people in different ways.

  • Yes, and kinks are even more so like a drug. Once you get used to a certain amount of kink, you then need more of the drug to achieve the same effect.

    • speaking of experience?

    • @swettannie Yes. We started out as exhibitionists that had sex in risky places, but were never caught. That became boring and we needed to get caught. It just kept going up from there.

    • kinda curious to know more haha

  • It can cause a natural high. But then again so can running and singing.

Sex is very much like a drug. But drugs, in general, are neither good or bad. It all depends on how they are used and to what end.

  • For me, yes definitely

  • Yes it is, the brain likes feeding on Endorphins which are produced through Pleasure, Plain and Fear.

basically these are Opiates for the brain (Candy for the Brain).

It often craves these and will do anything at times to get a hit,

this is why dreams, fantasies can be so real at times, also they may be very strange and not normal stuff.

Also why things such as Pain and Fear (shock etc) also work so well.

    • That's exactly what it is. If someone relies on that too much, it's bad.

  • surely not less than it

  • It can be very addictive

  • It's exactly like a drug.

  • yes it is

if it is really good with one person, you want a lot of it with them

if not, you'll look for someone to have great sex with

    orgasms feel so great

    • Yes but if that's the only single thing keeping you in the relationship with them and nothing else (and you both have nothing else in common) at all... the relationship will be doomed if one of them gets tired of too much of that.

    • @bostonbutterfly yes that is true but if you just want sex..

    • Orgasm is great but that's not the only thing I want to be loved for. What about going to trips together, family reunions, walking in the park, etc. If the all there is to it is only rubbing bodies, that will get old so fast.
