That depends on the relationship and those involved in the relationship. To me, a relationship without it could still work, but I'd feel unwanted if we were used to it and she decided to stop and not do it for months to years.

Is it? Maybe. Maybe not. Depends on what the needs are for both people. Being a naval aviator, I can forgo sex for a long time, so I don't really care, if my partner would not be hyperactive.
That said, this line of work is not relationship friendly. But I have a good friends with benefits, so when we can meet, it's fun and games.
