  • I don’t like or care for any so called beauty standards whether it be American, European, or otherwise. I can’t stand the fashion or aesthetics industry. Cosmopolitan, Vogue, and so many others are extremely corrupt and devoid of any morals. Then there’s the porn industry which goes hand in hand with the fashion industry! And finally there’s Hollywood and reality TV like the Kardashians! These are the worst and most evil organizations and people in existence! The standards they set are nothing more than objectifying and dehumanizing of women. Unrealistic and an unattainable bar that’s set. How about this for a novel idea… The beauty standard should be a woman who just dresses simple, looks simple, and lets her body be absolutely natural the way she is created. Enough of all of this fakery and smoke and mirrors! And enough with trying to over sexualize and objectify women. Sexuality is made to go hand-in-hand with being in love and cherished. It is a gift for someone special, not to be put on television, a cat walk, or for a selfish casual college age past-time activity!

    • I forgot to add, the new age so called standard for younger men equally sucks!

  • Nope it ain't but so what if it is or not? Nothing wrong with that.

    • It's pretty gayish.

    • In your opinion. And so what if it is?=]

  • Not sure those qualify for the "American" standard for beauty.

American women come in all sorts of shapes, sizes and colors. We are a very diverse population. Don't watch some much tv, get out and live life.

  • I've never been to America but I don't think that is the beauty standard. I think the beauty standard is Kim Kardashian, Kylie Jenner, Gigi Hadid, Bella Hadid, etcKardashian

    • Nope, they are not. That's the sad part. The standard of beauty in the USA is Cameron Diaz, Jennifer Aniston, Elizabeth Olsen, Stacy Martin, Bonny Wright, Phoebe Dynevor

    • Beauty standards are weird. Perhaps these beauty standards have changed again because the early 2000s are trending again? Everyone was stick thin back then

    • No, the thing is that the Kardashian beauty standard never took off in the USA.

  • That's not the American standard of beauty.

You want to talk about "gayish", look at K-Pop boys. Asian girls like effeminate looking men, by North American standards. Even female soft porn features these types.

    • This is what most Hollywood actresses look like.

  • These standards are not okay for men either lol

  • Thats not the standard lol

Most guys prefer busty hourglass women, the exceptions like big asses, very few like flat everything.

  • Who made this list? Not even close to my standard.

  • None of the physical traits you mentioned are appealing to me

  • That info you posted is obviously wrong.

  • Would you mind linking the source to where you got this beauty standard? You can’t, right? That’s because this is your perception, not everyone else’s. There is no one beauty standard and it’s certainly not a pale, shapeless woman. Not to mention the fact that several of your examples to the other comment are middle aged women no one even pays attention to anymore. Cameron Diaz and Jennifer Aniston? This isn’t the 90s.
