Girls, Is there any truth to the idea that sex work is "Easy"?

I've always had a love hate relationship with sex work, not because i feel that sleeping around is immoral or anything like that. But because it always felt like something anybody could do, and such work largely targets sad, desperate and lonely men who will do anything and pay any price for even the faintest hint of affection and validation.

Seriously... paying 29.99 for some random girls onlyfans when the hub is free. I might be on some survivors bias, but I can't help but feel there's a lot of people in sex work laughing their way to the bank.

Okay, so from what I understand, the vast majority of girls that do that Only Fans or whatever those sites are make almost nothing. I have read here (and elsewhere) that only a small percentage at the top are 'laughing all the way to the bank'.

So, one can argue that it is not easy then. I personally have no desire to ever do that sort of thing. Those that do, fine... whatever. I just will not put my body on display for money, nor will I perform sexual acts for other people.

I just have too much dignity and self respect to do that. Not to mention, I am married. I also have a steady career that I very much like and provides good income. There would just be zero reason for me to do it.

Given that it is known that so few make good money doing it, I would say it is not easy to do that and only that as a source of income.

I think because so many try. From that link, the average is 180 USD per month I think it says? Not much.

Maybe people see those that are very successful, which there obviously are some, and think how hard can it really be? I have seen some users here mention the amount of social media work and cross platform advertising that is required. Again, I am the last person with familiarity with the site but I do see it mentioned quite a bit. I also have wondered how long it is until even those with decent to great earnings just become boring and repetitive to those that subscribe. Maybe not but feels like they would after a while.

That is true, it would be a constant battle to stay relevant and i imagine its also something that if you're considering it you'd wanna get into it asap.

Yeah, I agree. Staying relevant and 'fresh' would be key to keep earnings high one would think. I hate to know at what price (acts) that would cost. Yikes.

It is indeed easy if and when you have no morals, no self-esteem and no dignity. It is an easy way to make an incremental income of for the real sex workers, a main income.

Now, anyone that has a minimum of decency and dignity will find it very difficult to prostitute themselves; because, let's face it, it is prostitution after all.

However, I am trying very hard to understand (but I am unsuccessful at it) why anyone would prostitute themselves just for a few $/£ additional in the bank account, knowing that you create yourself a reputation of prostitute or sex worker. But I guess that those that do that kind of sex work could not care less whether they have dignity and morals. They would be the typical person with a low IQ and lack of proper education. Anyone that has a minimum of education would not do such a job.

I guess it is easier to earn money with prostitution than with a real job where you have to prove that you are someone and have values.

Well there's always that slim chance that someone goes into sex work because they genuinely enjoy it.

No, i don't think it is... they face many problems like backlash from society, less job opportunities and other than that health problems.

This idea that people have that girls on Onlyfans are making tons of money is a myth, most make nothing. Another myth is all are posting porn, wrong again. I know someone that is making some money (not much) by posting fashion designs.
