Interesting question and discussion. For me "cumming" is the result of the orgasm but I like to edge and have gotten quite good at it lol so it's almost as if when I reach an edge it's like a mini-orgasm without cumming... and the more edges hit, the more intense every stroke leading to the next edge feels... when I finally allow myself to release (cum) it's a multiple level orgasm - usually with an intense first part with lots of eruptions followed by a plateauing of a not-as-intense-but-still-pleasurable feeling and then a final mini burst.

I will add... edging while masturbating is far easier or more controlling then edging with a partner which I can do but there are lots of other variables that the control isn't as strong :)
