  • Pulling out is a poor substitute for using a condom or you using birth control pills, or even something as simple as melting birth control inserts, or foam which kill sperm and of course condoms which prevent them from entering the vagina and heading up to the cervix.

Men release some sperm in pre-cum, as it's called, long before they ejaculate and those sperm are just as fertile as the gob of little swimmers that are forcibly released when a man ejeculates. The other issue is do you know about YOUR body? Do you know your fertile days of the month? Do you know the mucus reading fertility method? Are you keeping track of your daily temperature to find out when it rises to indicate you're fertile?

If you aren't doing these things and are relying on the pull-out method, which AT BEST has a 20 percent failure rate, but in practice is closer to a 40 percent failure rate, you will eventually get pregnant. If that's your plan and you're fine with it, keep on using this method.

I call pulling out a pregnancy planning method: You're planning to get pregnant using said.

Get to a doctor and get a prescription for a RELIABLE birth control method or at least use condoms and sperm-killing foam and inserts. Use condoms AND inserts for best results. More than 95% effective in pregnancy prevention when used in concert.

I was a Planned Parenthood lecturer. IUDs are very safe and reliable. Birth control pills also, and best is under the skin 5-year birth control hormone inserts. But you need to be cleared by a doctor that any of those methods are SAFE FOR YOU. Good luck.

  • Well YEAH! Washing his penis has nothing to do with you getting pregnant, It's what he left in you that gets you pregnant and how quickly did you two do it again.

  • Possible, but I would say not Probably. I have used that method also, but you have to remember that Pre-ejaculate, (the clear fluid that comes out of the penis as a lubricant for the urethra) also contains sperm too, I am told. I don't know how that happens, because I always thought the only sperm came out of the testicles with Ejaculation only? But keep that in mind, young guys most always produce a LOT of pre-ejaculate fluid, and you should ask him to pullout sometime when he is really pumping a lot and look at how much he is 'dripping' - clear fluid! Supposedly that contains sperm.

    Take it from there.

  • Yeah, pulling out in time is very risky. Even pre-cum has live sperm cells. I understand why both of you would prefer it since skin on skin is much hotter. For a guy it's a big difference esp. if he buys cheap (thick) condoms. Pulling out doesn't do anything as far as STDs are concerned. You may run into difficulties by insisting on it now after he's felt the added sensation w/o protection but ask him if he's going to hang around and help rear the children that could result from this.
Tell him to spring for as little extra $ and get lambskin condoms. Almost as sensitive as skin on skin

  • Anytime you have unprotected sex you can get pregnant. Precum is all it takes, even if he doesn't ejaculate in you. You're gambling. Be prepared to accept the consequences. Talk with your OB/GYN.

  • Yes.

  • It’s not likely but it can happen. If you wish not to get pregnant then it would be better to find a safer and more reliable method. I’m not a big risk taker so we may be coming from different worldview

  • Pull out is a joke. All women should be well knowledge on how to protect ourselves. Those guys who insist doing pull out are either dump or never care about you.

  • If you don't know the answer to this question, then why did yo do it? Do you want to be pregnant?

  • Pullout is always risky. Luckily i haven't got pregnant from that method but there's always a chance since there's precum.

  • Yes if he didn't wash every single sperm cell. which is virus impossible to do. Don't forget all it takes is just one lucky sperm cell to reach the egg to get pregnant.

    • *virus = virtually (but after autocorrect)

  • Do they not teach sex Ed in middle school now?

  • Hailey,
The pull out method does not work all the time. Precum can have some sperm it it. Unless he washed with soap and water he could still have had cum on his penis. Use a condom every time it is way safer. It is your body and your choice. If he wants sex with you and likes sex then he should not have an issue using condoms. Or consider going on birth control if you think he has no STDs. How often are you two having sex?

    • Like once a week maybe twice

    • Enjoy the great sex and it sounds like you two like to go for round 2 which is always fun. I would get on birth control and/or have him use a condom every time. If he does not want to use a condom then he will have to get use to handjobs only (which are still way fun)

  • You’ll soon find out.

  • Chances of that happening are slim

  • it is possible any way you slice it when not using protection, get a pregnancy test if you are that worried so you dont drive yourself crazy

    • When is the earliest I can get a test. Or should I get the morning after pill

    • i work in healthcare but cannot give medical advice but ill try the sisterly approach --i would get the morning after pill asap dont mess around or wait

    • and you can get a test at the store

  • It's almost impossible

  • Yes. Sperm can be present in precum.

Invite us all to the baby shower

  • Only if it got in your nose and ears.

  • Definitely. With very few exceptions EVERY time you have sex, there is a chance you’ll get pregnant. In terms of preventing pregnancy, you should ignore the exceptions and behave as though there is a chance of pregnancy EVERY SINGLE TIME.
Abstinence is far and away the most effective pregnancy preventative.

  • I mean you could I doubt it though! If you are never out though you should totally get a plan b.

  • It is possible. When a penis ejaculates, it does not fully drain. There will be semen srill in the pipeline when will be pushed out if he comes again.

  • all it takes is one strong swimmer left over inside that can sneak out and it's happy mother's day cards for life.
Even if you wipe Mr. Happy off, there is still some residual seamen inside that can leak out inside of you, then all bets are off.
It may not happen too often, it can happen.
So wrap that rascal anytime it goes inside of you, or go on some sort of effective birth control.
    Why risk it?

  • Yes you can get pregnant. Pulling out isn't safe.
