Men, can you sense when a woman is ovulating?

I'm having my fertile week and I swear my husband can smell it on me because he literally won't leave me alone. Usually I'm fine with this behavior from him but right now really cannot afford to get pregnant again. Everytime during sex these past few days I'm really having to remind him to pull out so nature doesn't take over and I end up pregnant 🤰

  • so yes and no here, studies have shown that the hormone levels of women change during ovulation, in turn the female smell changes slightly as well although men don’t realise they’re smelling something different, the body does and men get a short testosterone spike. The other difference is supposedly in mood and the way women act during ovulation. Although you may not notice it, it is also documented. Strippers make better tips during ovulation, women are more likely to wear revealing clothes. Female voice also slightly changes during ovulation. It’s only slight to entice a male into sex it’s not too apparent in order to avoid attracting a mate that isn’t here to stay. Maybe in a few years other studies will come out debunking the current ones but so far a few studies go as evidence.✌️

  • It depends. Sometimes, I could detect when my then-wife was ovulating. Her mood changed, and she was more receptive (and desirous) of sex. Other times I was clueless. If I smelled something different in her, it was subliminal and not a conscious thing.

  • I think the male animal can generally sense when a woman is at her height of ovulation. We're just animals and our biological goal is to procreate. Our RATIONAL goal, however, is NOT that because we do have the biggest brains of the mammals.

But men are less concerned about this in the heat of the testosteronic moment. Remind him of the costs of childrearing in time and money about five times a day during your fertile period. Bet this chills him out. And it's not an immediate cost, but a LIFETIME one. You are a parent until the day you die, and if you can help your child, you will. Unless you're rich and money and time are not concerns, REMIND HIM!!

  • Get your tubes tied, or be on a pill or put a condom on his member!

Clinginess can be hot, it makes you feel desired and wanted. Physical intimacy is one of the important things in a relationship.

I'm not saying that you HAVE TO satisfy his wants and needs beause you're ovulating. I mean more in the sense that you shouldn't close yourself off. You deserve some fun and affection.

    • Nah I'm not a fan of birth control

    • But yes I do love the clinginess

    • And why not

  • They can't "sense" shit about ovulation. They're not animals, no matter how some may act like they were born in a barn & not amongst decent society.

They react to a woman's increased horniness and absolutely nothing else.

  • I can definitely sense it. Not consciously but I just become more easily aroused and horny when a girl I’m with is ovulating around me. Almost always, what I sense is validated during sex when her vagina is super wet and she too is equally turned on, if not more so.

  • A lot of men certainly can, but it’s more subconscious for a lot of them rather than something that they actively notice.

  • My wife definitely has some tells when she's at that point in her cycle, but the surest sign is when she wakes me up at 3am for some attention.

    • "attention" lol

    • Luckily it doesn't take long for my attention to be raised!

    • I definitely hated when one of my exes was trying to wake me up in the middle of the night just for some boom boom, when all I wanted to do was sleep! Lol. I was exshausted. .. The things we do for our partners lol.

  • I think all men can but all men may not be aware of it. Nature does many things we are not aware of to spread the species.

  • So you dont want to fall pregnant but you dont want to stop it from happening? you know the pull out method isn't very effective. Also yes your body does release a smell that seems to make you more attractive to a man but not all men pick it up.

    • @singing_hollow perfect!

  • I can't sense it unless she makes it really obvious.

  • Babies like nature dont care if you think you can afford to get pregnant again. They need to come when they come, the money will be there.

    • Not the type of afford I was talking about. More like my body and mental health can't afford it since I just had 2 other babies back to back. Have had 5 pregnancies in total

    • @apple1996 That is indeed a lot for a 'modern western' woman. Still seeing a women until recently were pregnant for much of their fertile years that isn't a very high bar. I suppose one should ask why are women today soo much less able to withstand female tasks than women 80 years ago? Are they actually physically weaker as women?

    • Because we don't live in a world designed to have a bunch of babies. My great grandma had 22 kids but she didn't start till she was 25 years old and kept having babies into her 50s almost 60s. Crazy times back then but she also waited so it may have been easier for her

  • Yes it's possible women are most fertile when they're ovulating so if she has even a small percentage of sexual interest in your then she's going to be acting different, dressing a bit more sexy, her skin is clearer, etc.

  • I can watch the calendar.

  • Not consciously. It's not a cent that we can smell, but the pheromones can have an effect on us.

    • *scent

  • i don't think so

  • I can sense it in a few different ways.

  • If you are someone who can really detect the slightest changes in her moods/behaviour.. Then I guess you can make it out sometimes

And as you said body odour may also be a factor!

  • Yes I've always been able to tell so many different hormone changes in a woman simple by smell. I've always had a keen sense of smell like a damn wolf or something. I once stopped seeing a woman that I liked simply because I didn't like the way she smelled. It was such a turn off and I waited awhile to see if it changed and even talked to her about it. It wasn't body odor either. Something was off with her and no one else could smell it except for me. The ovulation smell has also been a turn off for me, but not with every woman. Only ounce in my life has it ever been a turn on.

  • Yes, I believe he can tell

  • Uh I don't think so? I don't know maybe?

  • wait what 💀

  • Nope

  • Not consciously, but I think our balls are pretty clued in as to what's going on! lol!
