Look, men don't see women who are virgins as a negative, generally (yes, a few do, but in my experience those guys were exclusively looking for casual sex rather than relationships anyway, and so were just being selfish about wanting easy sex with a minimum of complications). The reason a 40 year old virgin could be problematic is because most such women have hangups about sex and that's why they're still virgins.

Let's be honest with ourselves - sex is ONE OF the main reasons men commit to relationships with women. It's not the ONLY reason, but it's ALWAYS among the main ones, and so if a man thinks that sex is going to be a problem, he's not going to be very motivated to be in a relationship with that woman.

Now, perhaps the woman is very interested in sex, but she's just very shy, or somehow hasn't had an opportunity for a relationship at any time in the last 25 years (unlikely, but let's say it's possible). If he thinks that sex will be fine, then he's not going to care about her virginity status (negatively, anyway).

I'm not over 40, but I'd only marry a virgin, regardless of what age I am.

Unfortunately this means my options will probably hit zero at around 45, especially since I'm picky about a lot of ither things, but if that happens, I'll just stay a single virgin for life and build a robot ersomething I dunno.

Sure, if I knew for a fact that she wasn’t a virgin for so long because she didn’t like sex because that won’t work. I would hope the only reason was because she didn’t find the right person..
