My boyfriend doesn’t want me to have an abortion after we both decided we would. How can I handle this without ruining my relationship?

Me and my boyfriend had sex and the condom broke, but I took plan b. I found out plan b doesn’t work if your ovulating which I had no idea that I was even ovulating. I took a test and im pregnant, I just got my first corporate job and I love it, Im moving in with my boyfriend in February so im having a pretty good life right now, without children. We both decided that we were going to have an abortion via pill since it’s still really early, and we were discussing it a few moments ago and he doesn’t want me to do it at all. It’s part of his choice too clearly but I’m 18 and I have no
Plans on having children this young, and I have a great relationship that I don’t want to be ruined by this. I’m doing it and I don’t want him to hate me for it, But I don’t understand how he could change his mind on something we both know we wanted to do when we found out. I have no idea how to proceed. And again I love my relationship.

  • Not sure how you got a good corporate job at 18 without the obvious degrees but having a child at this stage could ruin your life and also in the end make the child's life miserable as you at 18 are not in a position to properly give your child everything he or she deserves. Either terminate the pregnancy or put the child up for adoption. There are plenty of couples really wanting a child but for various physical reasons can't get pregnant. That to me is a win win situation.

    • CEO said I reminded him of himself at my age so he brought me on board, I got lucky.

    • Very lucky, unless he brought on board for sex. What did you think about adoption?

  • your relationship has been affected already and it will never be the same again. No matter what you do at this point. The real question is how do you want him to think of you from this point forward? What you do now will make him see you differently depending on what you choose.

  • You are going to have to do what is right for you and hope that bond is strong enough to last. Abortion is not supposed to be easy. Its a very big choice, but it is your choice to make ultimately. I hope things work out for the two of you though.

  • I'm just some dude on the internet, I say don't abort, could very well make your relationship even better.

  • U gotta make the decision fast whatever it is but good luck

  • Women seem to forget that men are not just these sperm donors with no feelings.
There's part of us that naturally is made to father children and protect our wife and child.
Men who have hearts will really struggle with the thought of aborting their baby when it's his natural function to protect it and love it.

    • That’s great. But no one said that or implied it.

    • Well you seem to be confused about his perspective. He's confused too, but I'm explaing why he may have changed his mind. You're in a shit situation now with no right answer and you're looking for a way to justify your actions, and get out of it unscathed with your relationship in tact. The guilt is gonna be a lot for him if you abort his child. It just is what it is.
