Tell him that if he wants you to do it, he has to avoid salty food and eat lots of fruit for at least a week (or do it permanently if he wants you to do it more often). It will make the bitter taste go away, and possibly even make it taste sweet instead.
As for you, swallow it one gulp. Don't try to swalloe each spurt as it comes out. Let it all come out before you swallow, and swallow it all at once. That way it won't be in your mouth as long, and you won't taste it as much.
