My GP touches me inappropriately?

He asks to “assess me” and touches my ass when he is “turning me” to check my posture and stuff. Then, he “wants to check my heart rate” and places his stethoscope almost on my boob and sort of massages it. Is anyone else getting this from their GP?

  • If you have serious, honest concerns, and feel that you are being 'abused' or touched 'inappropriately' you need to report that.

I've had some pretty serious medical issues over the last year and a half, and I have seen many doctors, and Physician Assistant "doctors" and many of them have been women. They have always been the best, and I prefer women, as doctors, over men, because women take the time to listen, and they care, when you are concerned, and nervous, or unsure.
Of course, they have to touch you, for exams, and some have been very personal, like prostrate exams, and some other things. They had to touch me very personally, as part of the exam, but some were also just caring, and things like you said, 'turning' but they were making sure that I didn't fall, as I turned, or moved into some position, maybe? I didn't mind their touch, and wasn't at all concerned or thinking it was something bad.

But I know it can be different, for a woman, with a male doctor.

I am not, in ANY WAY, negating your feelings, or saying you didn't feel what you felt! If you were unsure, and you felt that the doctor did something inappropriate, you need to report that!

    • I’m not talking about genuine touching. What I felt was inappropriate and not what I have previously felt with my GPs.

    • Then you need to report that! Seriously!!

    • Yes I will.

  • Yes he is crossing A-line or 2 and the you O it to yourself if it bothers you when That happens so ask him not to be so personable it's a difficult thing to say and do but it's better to do that than tolerate the discomfort That you're feelingYou're says the suggestion grampa I'm not a low kid no more you shouldn't touch me like that it's inappropriate just an idea

  • I would say report him to the medical board becuase that is illegal and if enough people have report him, he can lose his license or he'll be called by the board for an interview and they'll judge if he's allowed to practice it again

  • I saw a doctor for a few years when I lived in another state that examined me and held onto me a lot longer than she should have. I loved it lol.

  • One time I went to get my wisdom teeth removed.
    They put me under anaesthetic.
Before that I tied some thin thread or something from one side to the other on the inside of my pants zipper so I could tell if anyone unzipped me.
When I came to I went to the bathroom, slowly unzipped my pants and the thread was already broken.

    • What do you think happened there?

    • I think they probably unzipped my pants while I was unconscious and checked out what I had in there and did whatever weirdos do I guess? I just went home. I was on tylenol 3's so I was dopey.

    • Were they women?

  • Get a new doctor. File a report with the state medical board.

  • Its commonplace for a female nurse to come in the room with you and your GP. Even if your GP is a chick, too. Most places will offer/allow... or insist upon... there being a witness in the room. Its kind of a "cover their ass" move.

  • You're the reason innocent men go to jail for rape and sexual assault. Fall off a cliff

    • no GP needs to touch her butt or massage her boobs, just f* off

    • I know it was not normal the way he was touching me everywhere

  • Look for a new doctor, if possible try to get references from someone you can trust.

  • WHY isn't there a nurse in the room with you during the exam?
If this is true, you should find a different GP and file a report on him.

  • Oh, he's a perv alright and you need to tel your parents.

  • That is highly unethical and they could lose their job for doing that

  • You mean he touched your lower back and correctly listened to your heart and lungs? Man, so annoying when people do their jobs properly 🤨

    • No, he quite literally put his hand on my ass cheeks when he started turning me around. And his stethoscope was way too low for him to be able to heart anything!

    • Hear*

    • Well, not much you can do about it at this point. I'd search for another GP if you're uncomfortable. Perhaps a female one.
