
Neem male birth control?

Traditionally Neem Tree is believed wonder tree, and many – supported or unsupported effects are attributed to neem and neem products. In some studies for long-term contraception, a small amount of Neem oil injected into the vas deferens seems to provide eight months of contraception with no change in testosterone levels. It was found that Neem leaf tablets provided reversible male infertility but with no change in sperm production or libido in monkeys. Neem oil can also kill sperms, hence can be used as a spermicide. Researches also show that woman who applied neem oil intravaginally just before sexual intercourse could not get pregnant. However, Neem oil does not affect the testosterone level in men. Undiluted neem oil was found to possess strong spermicidal action (within 30 s) in vitro. Whereas 3 mg of neem leaf extract, when treated with human sperma- tozoa, kills 100% of sperm within 20 s. But neem oil or any of neem product is not used for sure birth control in men or women. It is still in group of folk medicine for this and many uses. Traditionally Neem bark and Neem oil is used to treat any sort of gum ailments. This is due to the fact that the anti-bacterial properties it contains helps to fight Streptococcus mutans present in our mouth which can lead to mouth sores or even bad breath. Neem oil can also be used as an anti-microbial agent or a purifier. Tooth decay, cavities, gingivitis and dental plaque can also be cured by consuming neem leaf. Cleaning your teeth regularly with a neem twig can give you whiter and shinier teeth as it is rich in antioxidants. It can also build up the gums and immune responses of the mouth tissues. Neem contains antibacterial properties. Neem leaves cure asthma. Neem increases the quantity of gastric mucus which plays a major role in combating ulcers. Neem plant has hypoglycaemic or blood sugar lowering properties, therefore, Neem is beneficial in controlling the blood sugar levels and can be ideal for diabetic patients. It can also delay and prevent certain diseases. Neem also prevents oxidative stress which is caused due to diabetes. Neem oil maintains oral hygiene and health. Neem leaf can be used to cure leprosy. Many neem products are used for blood purification and circulation. Neem is beneficial for soothing the discomfort and pain associated with malaria. It is also useful in preventing malaria from occurring.
Never heard of it being used for a birth control. My concern would be any side effects from long term use.
