It's been suggested to me by my therapist that I stop masturbating for thirty days.
I told him that it just wasn't possible for me to do so. As it turned out, I was wrong about that.
A long time went by before I did happen to refrain for thirty days. It started out as seven days of my being extremely busy before noticing that a week had passed. I thought OK, I'll shoot for thirty days. It turned out to not be a big deal.
He said that thirty days is sufficient time for hidden emotions to surface, to then be dealt with.
I found there to be no upwelling of new emotions.
When I told him that I'd refrained for the prescribed time and that I had noticed nothing in particular of an emotional nature, he said to go another thirty days.
I indulged in self-pleasure as soon as I arrived home from our session.
In my situation of being married to a completely asexual woman, I see no reason to forego even a solo sex life.
I value the time spent with my therapist. We just happen to disagree on that point.

I STRUGGLED for years!
