I'm curious as to how guys think about penetration with a virgin – do you think the girl should be fine without lube/foreplay, or do you think it's a must?

Lube is only for anal, if you wanted foreplay you must have said it.

You're nervous and contracting your vaginal muscles. You have to relax, a lot of foreplay lots of kissing and touching maybe have him fingering you before going in. My guy couldn't penetrate me either the first times we had sex. It was painful to begin with and the nerves made me contract my muscles which made the pain 10 times worse
