16 is old for getting spanked. They should be grounding you when you do bad things. Since physical abuse is illegal in my state I couldn't spank my children. I punished them by grounding them.

I use to spank my eldest daughter, she always briny naughty. So I use to put her over my knees and smacked her bottom over her panties. But by the time she got to about 10 , I was getting to think she was enjoying it. I think it was the last time , she made a mess in the kitchen knocking over some food on the table.
