People in Turkey say that we are descendants of the Ottoman Empire. So what happens to the people Atatürk fucked and sent abroad?

During the Ottoman Empire, Christians and people of other religions, even Muslims, were taken as captives and used as sex slaves for the sultan. but Anatolian humans being, they didn't see any value back then, but now they say we are the grandchildren of the Ottoman Empire. As half-Armenian, Armenians have a good word. we are the sword remnant of the ottoman. What do you think about Ottoman

Superb Opinion

  • I understand the desire to not be punished for the actions of our ancestors. I believe what might smooth the situation over is just acknowledging what happened rather than act like an innocent victim. Just admit there were a lot of inhumane acts in the past, and say you hope those in power learn from the past and never repeat those inappropriate acts again.

As an example, I like watching NHK News from Japan, as they tend to give balanced rather than one-sided or sensationalist reporting, at least for most of the year. When the anniversary of the atomic bombs comes around, they play like they were innocent victims, never acknowledging the atrocities perpetrated by the Japanese military that would have continued had the bombs not been dropped. They could have surrendered after the dropping of the first bomb. By defiantly refusing, they invited the next bomb. A third bomb was available if they continued to resist. I would love to see all nuclear weapons eliminated, but I'm not sure that would be possible, as you never know where one might be hidden and used. Unfortunately, it was, at the time, the best option available to limit more deaths on both sides.
