People of G@G! How far into dating was your first sex with your current LTR partner?

"Common wisdom" says that you should not have sex TOO soon if you want a relationship to last, but is that really good advice? If you are currently in a relationship that has lasted six months or more, when did YOU first have sex with your current partner? If you aren't currently in a relationship but have been in the past, please answer for your last relationship. If the relationship ended, do you think that having sex too soon contributed to counterproductive attitudes about the relationship?

With my much older than me husband we been together as a couple for 7 years. While we were dating it was almost six before We had actual intercourse.
We didn't get sexual until about 4 mos of dating.
Prior to these 4 mos it was a lot of talking movies meals coffee kissing hand holding light touching and hugging. It was the best dating experience I ever had.
I had tried dating people my own age but the fid not seem to gasp the condept of dating... They considered texting to be the key. Getting the to commit to dinner coffer or a movie was nearly impossible anf if they did give their time for one of these activities they took it as an invite for sexual favors. It was rather annoying to find someone decent to date long term.

Erm before we dated.

met at a Christmas party and before the party snuck off to a room in hotel (party venue) and spent two days in the room.

we then thought we better date, then for shits and giggles decided to get married.

Actually, we had a quickie in a bathroom during a metal concert in our first date.
But we are going for 17 years together come October. So I guess it's really a shot in the dark to say whether a relationship is made to last or not.

To be honest, after a week and a half of dating. I didn't even consider it dating and I wasn't really planning on a long-term relationship, but then it happened!
What else to say, if everything goes well we are getting legally married by the end of the year!
